Getting to know ChatGTP Plus

AI - Getting to know chatgtp plus.png

I've been wanting to write about AI for a while

Heck, I even had a draft ready after reading some cool posts by @riverflows. I never finished it as my focus got shifted to another side of AI. Thankfully, @finguru created this community called "The Mindful AI" making it interesting again for me to discover the options offered by ChatGTP.
Let's be very clear here though, I will not use ChatGTP for my Hive content in terms of letting it write my posts for me, I'd not risk my reputation for a few extra bucks. But I do see the huge potential of using the AI tools to learn new skills as well as roll out business ideas that I've been stuck on for a while simply because I'm lost on where to start rolling things out and making a solid step-by-step plan for it. AI has been great for that!

My boyfriend was the one that got me excited

To start exploring the options offered by ChatGTP. He has been using it as an assistant to get a decent plan working on documentation for the business which was new to him until last year. He was thrown in the deep at the time to make sure that year the Audit for certification would go smoothly while he had no clue what he was doing. It took him a lot of time and effort to grab his head around this stuff even a bit and I remember the frustration some days as if it happened yesterday. I was quite proud that he managed to get the company to pass the audit and that was it for the year.

This year he thought he'd be smarter and ask AI for assistance to roll out a decent plan as some things had changed over the year and he wasn't sure how these things would affect everything. Of course, he learned a lot by doing what he did the year before but he's always very keen on having the correct documentation and improving things where possible. He started asking questions (without using sensitive customer data of course) to ChatGTP and he was thrilled seeing how this would make everything so much easier. By reading the rolled-out plans, the advised documentation needed etc, he learned a lot and it was a much smoother learning curve compared to figuring it all out by himself. I kept hearing him being thrilled constantly about many things that I knew I had to start exploring on how to use AI to my advantage as well.

I started to think about options

For example, I've been exploring the option of how to use Amazon affiliate marketing and have postponed publishing content on the items I ordered there until I'm ready to apply for the program. I read that the content should be not older than 2 months, so I'm trying to get ready to have some content available for when I think I meet the requirements. I asked ChatGTP (the free version) for assistance to make a plan and took notes on that. I was happy with the help but clearly, I did not understand it fully.

Then I figured, I might ask help for with the t-shirt line I'm creating to sell on Bonfire. So far I have a few designs ready, but only published my daughter's art design on one of them to try out the launch procedure. I thought maybe AI can help me with a few ideas for my designs but I bumped into the problem that it's all outdated data if you ask something like "Most sold quotes on t-shirts". So I will probably not reach out for assistance from ChatGTP until I have the first line ready to be launched, to start the marketing campaign. I think for that reason, the assistance can be very valuable.

So far I didn't have much help but I know this is because I didn't ask the right questions, I don't know what I want from ChatGTP yet so I can't ask the needed questions yet. I have some learning to do here, which is fine because now at least my interest is there.

ChatGTP Plus

My boyfriend aimed for the option to take a ChatGTP Plus membership as he feels for him alone it will be useful too, he said that with all the ideas I have, he is sure that I can utilize AI to get things rolling and make sure these plans will be realized. I knew he was probably right because now only more ideas are added instead of staying focussed to get things out there. It's a waste of ideas and I'd like to change that. We bought ChatGTP Plus last week and I was unsure where to start, haha.

I have a few unfinished ebook ideas that have plenty of writing time in them already but nothing ready to be published while selling ebooks on Amazon has been on my list for several years now. I decided to ask AI how to start selling and get a step-by-step plan. I know you can find this info online but often information is cluttered with other things I don't need to know now, so AI saved me some time. I also asked AI about some chapter ideas to finish the book, I will not share this here as the plan is to finish it and publish it, getting things into motion, you see.

Simple usage: Improving a faulty recipe

A while ago, I wanted to make a coffee cake and pulled the recipe from the Lorespresso website. When I was collecting the ingredients, something felt off and I couldn't grab my head around it yet so I just followed the ingredient list and instructions exactly until I knew something like baking powder or baking soda must be missing. But I don't know exactly which one does what as I'm one to just follow baking instructions usually. Today I felt like improving the recipe and having another try baking this cake as it had potential for sure!

image.png

I copied the ingredients in Spanish, but why translate it if ChatGTP-4 can do it for you, saves me some time. This was the answer:

image.png

I was about to copy the instructions but discovered that these were not even needed as ChatGTP4 added them without me asking:

image.png

image.png

I wasn't sure about the 4 eggs so I asked this as well. I will probably add 3 first and then find out how thick or thin the batter is before deciding on the perfect number of eggs.

image.png

This made sense partially besides I never baked a cake in my life within only 35 minutes, I don't even think 45 has ever happened. I have seen instructions saying 45-60 minutes before but never starting at 35 to 45 only. Our current oven needs a much higher baking temperature for my banana bread recipe which I baked at much lower temperatures in our old home many times. I assume that I will need to adjust the temperature here as well to make it a perfect cake using our oven.

I can't wait until I learn more about the usage of ChatGTP4

So far I've been asking quite simple straightforward questions about step-by-step plans and this improved recipe. It's nice not to have to google and ask AI instead, I can then ask more questions if needed and see if it makes sense. To me, this recipe improvement confirmed what I thought, without me having to read about it online to learn more about missing ingredients and what they do to the cake.

I read you can add a browser extension (or can add it in the future, not sure) for real-time data being processed when generating the answers. This sounds cool but I think I will refrain from going there now until I understand this all a bit better.

Learning became much easier

I see HUGE potential for people like myself who learn by doing things rather than reading endless books with information. I'm a much faster learner when I see how something is done over reading it the old-school way. I can see how I can learn a bit more about coding in the future simply by seeing how ChatGTP answers my questions and asking more questions to explain what I see over watching tutorials online.

Also, something that bothered me greatly in the past was tons of students in the same class/course and then being the ones that understand all material discussed, having to sit there endlessly hearing the same questions being asked over and over again by other students. I got bored and felt like I was wasting precious time. This whole nu era of AI can be a great tool for those active learners to keep their own pace instead of being slowed down by others. Time is precious.

What have you been using AI tools for so far? Want to share it in a comment?

This is a fully original article written by myself, the only thing I used the assistance of AI for is included in screenshots and contains the information about a recipe I wanted to improve. The header image is created with the help of Canva pro (a paid subscription.)

ChatGPT 4 is so much better than version 3.5 (the free version), it's like it's not even the same program. If people on Hive (ie the Hivewatchers crowd) were losing their shit about version 3.5, whenever version 4 becomes the free version their heads are going to explode.

I think you hit the nail on the head. This will make learning so much easier. Frankly, learning by reading a book is not very efficient. (And I say that as a bookworm). This is why we have teachers and it's why a good teacher can help people to learn much better than a good book. ChatGPT 4 is now our teacher.

I can see from when I select the 3.5 legacy or default version that there are differences but haven't been using it that much yet to see the actual differences. Will probably have some fun soon asking the same thing at 3.5 and 4 to see the outcome differences :)

I honestly think everyone can be responsibly using this on Hive to improve their content, for example, bi-lingual content. My boyfriend said (I have not tried it yet) that it was a much better help translating some text to Spanish for our landlord than google translate (which I normally use for assistance). If that's true, I can see how ChatGTP will assist in translating Spanish content (originally written by the author of course) to English for a bi-lingual post. This way they can learn by reading what ChatGTP translates instead of having poorly written English content. Just a simple example of why I think it should not be overruled by HW completely.

Of course, there will always be people trying to do nothing themselves, you will see that happening with and without AI tools though.

I never liked learning from a book, I was always bored in class and could start yawning from boredom and then not stop anymore, haha. While I know it's simply the constant having to listen causing this rather than being allowed to proactively learn the way I will pick up more information efficiently.

I hope I can learn how to use ChatGTP quickly before there are 10 newer versions lol.

I know you can find this info online but often information is cluttered with other things I don't need to know now, so AI saved me some time.

It's a good search engine, though it's not always accurate. Sometimes I've queried or corrected it and it's apologized. I'll write about that for one of my fungi Friday posts as of course it's mushroom related 😂

I wonder if your boyfriend could claim it on tax since it's a tool used for work?

My husband is going to try it to write reports. Sam with every other teacher that knows about AI. It's certainly going to change education but most teachers aren't even aware of it's potential or how fast it's going. I would love to try Chat GTP plus. Does it do images as well?

This whole nu era of AI can be a great tool for those active learners to keep their own pace instead of being slowed down by others

Yes!!! But kids are going to have to be taught how to use it and spot inaccuracies or read further to double check.

Great article.

I know it's not always accurate, but I also had a few fun conversations about Hive for example. It's the same thing as always: don't take everything for the truth but question things instead.

I love it when ChatGTP apologizes lol, quite funny!

He can deduct it, yes, it will not save us a bunch of taxes but at least every bit helps..

I think it will save your man a lot of work if he starts to master this skill called AI :) I'm still a bit lost with things I have in mind but I told myself to play around daily so that I will start to understand how it's used best rather sooner than later.

Yes!!! But kids are going to have to be taught how to use it and spot inaccuracies or read further to double check.

Exactly this, instead of telling the kids the info they need, they will (at some point) learn how to find the info instead, the skill of using these tools to get to the answers. But surely they should not forget to tell them to verify indeed, if they aren't able to do that, or just take things for the truth, it will not be helpful :)

Thanks for stopping by, keeping my eye out for your next AI post :)

Thank you, glad it was helpful!

I will bake it today, I found out that I didn't have enough butter yesterday and we went to get it in the evening so it was too late. But yeah, I bet this one will be better! I will share it in another post once done :)

My client and I just talked about chatGTP the other day. He asked me what's my thought about it. For me, I'll use chatGTP as an assistant for my writing gig on Upwork. It's not actually accurate and it is limited up to 2021. It's just that chatGTP answers all your questions directly like you're talking to somebody. But if you use the Google search engine, 5 pages from different websites will give you answers. He asked me if this will replace humans. I say no. Because the AI machine still needs human intervention for it to work. It was a long discussion, though.

Exactly my thoughts, it's already useful to rule out the unneeded information you find when googling. I mean I have to say that I'm quite good at using Google but still I often browse for way too long to get to certain information so even for that it will be quite helpful.

I admit that I found AI scary myself until I started to see it also has great potential to educate people. I'm sure that even with the knowledge and tools available, there will be many left behind that won't touch it and I can see how they will have issues finding certain jobs in the future because those that master the skill of using AI as an assistant will pass the needed skills and knowledge without any doubt while they are stuck in the past. Even for that alone, I'd encourage everyone to at least explore this a bit to see how it can be helpful for them.

For research purposes, this is fine. But for human interaction, we still need other humans for validation. My client was afraid, too. That it might take away his job. I said no. An AI machine can't give us our emotional needs.

Hello @thisismylife - to me AI is very scary! It could erase history! It causes people to believe so many lies because of all the fake pictures and videos that look so real!!! I am happy you find AI helpful and interesting, but I think in the wrongs hands is extremely dangerous. It is already in the wrong hands with politics, and causing terrible things to happen in my country. Hopefully enough people are educated enough to vote correctly. I hope I am not offending you, but when you said that AI didn't go back for enough in t-shirt quote history for "the Most Sold Quotes on t-shirts, I thought Oh No - AI could erase history of everything! Maybe I am over reacting, and you did have a free version that would only do so much help. Maybe the paid version has all of history. So keep me posted. 😅 Maybe I'm am too worried - or am I? What about those fake videos and photos that look real in politics?
Have a great weekend!

I think that the deep fakes (fake videos) you speak about are indeed very dangerous and cause a lot of harm. It's insane what they can do with this.

ChatGTP is text though, there is no video creation or images/art, it's a virtual assistant tool that can be helpful in many ways. The AI is trained and therefore the free version of ChatGTP can only read data until a few years ago, the newer information is not trained in the systems yet.
So therefore when I ask to check for the most popular quotes, it will give me data from several years ago which may not apply at this point anymore.

You should not be worried, AI can do harm, but as everything should be in balance, there's this good side of AI that you can use to your own benefit. And that's what I'm trying to do now.

Here's the link, you can check the free version: https://chat.openai.com/chat
Now add @finguru's simple explanation on how you could use this to your benefit by using these power verbs: https://peakd.com/hive-196902/@finguru/supercharge-your-chat-gpt-prompts-with-power-verbs

Let me know if you tried it and what your first thoughts are :)

It's really my pleasure, the way you present your content is exactly how newbies will understand it much easier rather than lots of text .. Great job!

And yes, we have to focus on the good, because we can't deny that there are so many ways to improve our lives, no matter what your profession/hobby/skill you want to learn is..

Hi @thisismylife - that is nice how the AI added a leavening agent of baking powder and salt to bring out flavors. Have a nice rest of the week and weekend. Great to hear from you.

Yes, that's something I would have been googling for a longer time if the chat would not tell me within 30 seconds what was missing. Time is money, I value my time, so for this it's awesome.

LMAO. There are unlimited possibilities. A few weeks ago I was thinking to launch an Etsy Store to sell digital products using Chat GPT. 😂😂

You will definitely thank your boyfriend a year later from now. Because AI will change your life if you start leveraging its power now. It's like buying btc 10 years ago.

Thanks for the shout out and for this amazing write-up sharing your firsthand experience and ideas. I will go write (ask Chat GPT) a diet plan for myself and yummy vegetarian recipes xD

Haha yeah, I bet I will thank him indeed. He was nagging me about it for a while but I have to think things through a bit first..

You can sell stuff using ChatGTP for sure, it crossed my mind as well, but currently, so many ideas that I will just stick to the recipe for today :)

Have a good weekend!

It has been a long time my friend since I read your last post. Yes, I also find ChatGPT very useful and asked several questions related to the improvement of the financial standing of our school, accounting, and blockchain.
