It's Airdrop Season On Hive!

It feels like it's airdrop season on Hive

With the snapshots coming up on January 6th for @spknetwork info here & @ragnarok.game info here, most of us have been stacking $HIVE where we could to make sure we benefit most from these upcoming drops. I love the fact that these drops are based on Hive holdings, as we all benefit from growing that stake as well as receiving the airdrops for these new projects.

I personally can't wait for January 6 to arrive and am even more curious about the Ragnarok cards that will be dropped 100% free to Hive holders. I think this is truly awesome! I just noticed this card reveal on their page:

How could this not be an airdrop making many Hive holders happy?

WIT airdrop for delegators to the Creative Coin fund

For those that don't know this yet, you can delegate your CCC tokens to @cccf to earn weekly CCC as a reward for your delegation. I've been doing this with the (small) stake I had in CCC, it was only a little over 300 tokens and didn't earn me many tokens a week. It was still better than having them unused, so I decided to support the fund this way.

Then I noticed this message last week in the weekly update from the creative coin fund:

I saw an opportunity to increase my earnings significantly by making sure that my stake went from 300+ to 10000+ tokens, and delegate them to @cccf before the snapshot on December 31. I decided to buy them right away, I paid the market price so that I could check this off my list and make sure I wasn't going to forget this and miss out.

Yesterday I noticed that I had received the same amount of WIT tokens in my wallet:

The sweet thing about this drop is that it's not only a bag of free tokens, but these tokens are instantly working to make more tokens as well. I will now receive weekly CCC & WIT payments!

Other recent airdrops on Hive: DSPN

I have to admit, that staking tokens on Hive and receiving airdrops have been quite fun in the past month. There were a few other airdrops on Hive Engine as well that are worth mentioning.

The first one is DigitSpin Crypto which I found thanks to the active #hive community on Twitter. I filled in a form for this drop and a few weeks later, I received 200 DSPN tokens. As you can see in the screenshot below, they are quite valuable:

I didn't read more about the token until I noticed that I received 2.5 DSPN in my wallet on Christmas eve. I thought wow this is nice, receiving mining rewards over the airdrop. Every time you receive a mining reward it's 2.5 DSPN, the chances of receiving a mining reward depend on how big your stake is though.

As you can see, I've received 4 mining rewards of 2.5 DSPN since December 24th. Not bad! I'm staking the rewards so that my chances will grow a bit. I'm considering buying a few more as well. Just need to buy some other things first before I will do so. So in this case, the already sweet airdrop is also making me a few extra bucks every time the lottery selects my account.

Other recent airdrops on Hive: VYB

I was tagged in a post from @vyb.vyb a few weeks ago and noticed my name was in the airdrop list. Who doesn't like getting a free airdrop? You can find all the info about the airdrop here although I have to admit that I haven't fully taken all the info to me yet, while I did join their discord to check out the announcements. I believe it's sort of connected to proofofbrain, as they share the same discord, but I have to read more about it myself. You can DYOR of course. This is their frontend.

I received an airdrop of 639 tokens I believe, the rest of the stake is curation rewards.
As I feared losing too much VP over voting #vyb posts, I immediately followed the @onealfa.vyb trail when I read this post. He curated manually and this way I will probably earn more tokens.

Personally, I try to use the vyb tag in all my posts as I read it's a generic tag. I get quite happy with these generic tags because I often fall short on a few when publishing something very niche.

Conclusion: quite a bunch of airdrops

I think this is great, first of all, to receive a bag of free tokens. But even more so, if these tokens earn me new rewards by staking them. It will make it much more appealing to buy more tokens and grow the stake in the future. It's also very motivating to keep buying tokens and build a higher stake.
