How I Increased post payout from 2.5 Hive to 5.8 Hive just by using great tags and writing good stuff.

I went through each one of these this afternoon and calculated the amount of Hive each token reward was worth. That way when I am reviewing my posts, I can have a better understanding not only of which post earns me the most crypto, but also which TAG or TRIBE it is that is addition the most reward to the posts I create.

In this example, I tagged my post with the same tags I am using on this post. I received some comments last time, so I wanted to go over a few of the use cases of some of the tag on this post:

  • #alive - This is a wonderful tribe - TOKEN. They have a condenser\Nitrous front-end here: https://www.wearealiveand.social/ Erik G. (the tribe founder) does a great job of making sure the community is active. I own lots of the Alive token and miner, and am working on content for the new alive e-book list-building portion.

  • #archon - TOKEN General tag. Per description: 'Archon Tribe Token: 100k to start. 1 ARCHON will be added to reward pool every 150 blocks for PoB. Miners split 100k ARCHON per year. Staked ARCHON is a source of GP in Archon Governance.'

  • #ctp - TOKEN This is my favorite second layer tribe token, and it sports the ctptalk.com front-end. Jon, Blain, and Eliana from ClickTrackProfit.com have done a superb job with building a community and use case for the ctp token. I stake a good deal of this and own miners (CTPM) as well. Can't say enough good about them.

  • #leofinance - TOKEN A rock-solid tag to use if your posts are about crypto or finance. Has a great-looking blogging front-end. I use this tag when I discuss my second layer tokens, and I get good upvotes on my content as long as I stay on track with it.

I round out my tags with #neoxian, which nets neoxag, and #proofofbrain which pays POB tokens.

I added SPT tokens to my chart. :)

I've also started tracking #spt on my posts, since I am staking this token to increase my curation rewards and voting power on the SplinterTalk.io front-end, now that I play SplinterLands. Per this post there's a great explanation on how they use the @monster-grinder and @monster-curator on posts that use the #spt tag to reward good content.

If you're like me and you already blog AND play SplinterLands, then using this tag is a no-brainer when your content shows how folks that leverage SplinterLands can increase their earnings. It was this aspect of the game that attracted me to it to begin with.

This has also added additional value to my posts.

What's in YOUR wallet?

With the sake of sounding like Samuel L. Jackson, what crypto is in your wallet? Leave a comment below and let me know which tags you use and their use cases. :)

I hope the last few posts I've done that discuss tag usage help to clear some of the confusion I've seen recently on which tags to use where. When in doubt, read other posts that use the tag and see if your content matches in content.

Peace and Love,

-Rob

Great article buddy, very helpful info. I had no idea that you could increase the return let alone double it on your article with the proper use of tags.
This is a great nugget :-)

Thanks Chris. I've been monitoring my payouts to make sure my posts go to the folks who appreciate it (ie: upvote) the most. That's the only metric I have except for comments on whether my stuff is working with a specific group.

Why thanks! I've noticed if I write about something ONCE, it sort of goes by. But if I 'harp' on something several times, I get good responses and people read my stuff. 👍

Layer 2 earnings are definitely a great way to add to the value of one's account. The combination of tags relevant to tribes you call your own as well as general topic tribes can be powerful as you demonstrated.

The use of mining tokens is a good touch too, so anyone who wants a miner should save up first.

Regarding the math...

Reward x (HIVE/token) = {more or less} (HIVE Value)

But how is (HIVE/token) calculated? That's just the price of HIVE divided by the price of the Layer 2 token, is that correct? I just want to confirm before I do something similar for my own wallet.

Great post, and useful. In addition to the upvote, please accept this slice of !PIZZA along with the only !LUV token I can hand out today.

Ahh great question. HIVE/token is whatever I can currently sell the amount of token I've earned for on Hive-Engine market. So that price fluctuates. So it's how many Hive it shows the token is worth on the open market.

Let's say that for {Hive/token} that "token" is LEO.

If {HIVE = 0.595},
and {LEO = 0.190},
then {HIVE/LEO = 0.595/0.190 = 3.12}.

Does that result make sense to you? Is this the proper way to calculate {Hive/token}? If it's wrong, how should I calculate it?

No. It's how much hive I can sell it for.
So in this case, for LEO, the H-E current market price is: 0.30562. That's the current bid here:
https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=LEO

So I multiply that by how many LEO I received as a reward to get the value of that LEO in Hive.

If I'd received 5 LEO in reward, the Hive/token would be 0.30562 and the Hive value of those 5 leo would amount to 1.528.

Ah, OK. I was using the USD price of LEO as shown in the LeoFinance wallet page as well as the Hive Engine front page. Thanks for the clarification!
