La Navidad en la iglesia || Christmas in the church [Esp - Eng]

El pasado domingo, con la intención de hacer algunas fotografías representativas de la Navidad en la iglesia católica, cerca de las 11 de la mañana, me acerqué hasta la iglesia La Anunciación del Señor, ubicada en la urbanización La Boyera del municipio El Hatillo, en el estado Miranda de Venezuela. Resulta que durante esta semana, infructuosamente había ido varias veces y siempre la conseguía cerrada, por lo cual decidí que el día domingo sería el día ideal por ser tradicionalmente de mayor actividad religiosa. Lo que yo no pensé es que no solo sería ideal sino perfecto.

Esta iglesia es de una arquitectura moderna, con todas las áreas requeridas por la religión católica para el funcionamiento de los distintos rituales que tradicionalmente allí deben realizar.

Cuando llegué, conseguí la iglesia con las puertas abiertas de par en par, había muy pocas personas, en su mayoría colaboradores de la iglesia, quienes estaban haciendo todos los preparativos para la realización de la misa de las 12 del mediodía. Así que puse manos a la obra y comencé a tomar fotos a todos los adornos navideños que pusieron en la iglesia, pero me extrañaba que por ningún lado veía el tradicional nacimiento, esto me pareció muy raro hasta que me enteré de que ese día sería su inauguración, así como el respectivo ritual de bendición, por eso era que el nacimiento no se veía por ninguna parte, pues estaba oculto hasta que terminara la misa de 12 m.

Al entrar, observé que todas las imágenes estaban adornadas con sus respectivos arreglos navideños. En la zona del altar habían colocado varias guirnaldas de flores rojas y al lado derecho de la figura de la virgen María tenían colocada la corona de Adviento con sus cuatro velas. Este día sería encendida la tercera vela, por ser el tercer domingo de esta celebración, a este día tambíén se le conoce como Domingo de Gaudete o de la alegría. Por otra parte, el coro de la iglesia estaba adornado con unas hermosas coronas de flores.

Así poco a poco se fue llenando la iglesia, comenzaron a llegar los feligreses y casi sin darme cuenta todo el templo se llenó de gente y comenzó la misa.

Hasta que llegó el emotivo momento de la inauguración y bendición del nacimiento. El Padre se dirigió hacia el área donde estaba oculto el nacimiento y junto a varias personas procedieron a quitarle un papel que cubría el pesebre, así quedó el hermoso nacimiento a la vista de todos los presentes. El Padre dijo unas palabras y procedió a bendecir al nacimiento y a todos los presentes.

Resulta que hasta allí no llegaron las sorpresas de ese día, al finalizar la bendición del nacimiento, anunciaron la celebración del cumpleaños de una de las señoras colaboradoras de la iglesia e invitaron a los que quisieran quedarse a celebrar. Así que los cantores de la iglesia comenzaron a cantar el cumpleaños feliz y hasta se picó una riquísima torta de chocolate.

Para terminar con broche de oro, hubo una bendición de coronas de Adviento que algunos vecinos llevaron a la iglesia.

Así terminó esta intensa jornada de gratas emociones en el tercer domingo de Adviento del mes de diciembre de 2022, en la iglesia La Anunciación del Señor, en un ambiente de total alegría y entusiasmo. De verdad que cuando salí de mi casa rumbo a la iglesia, no tenía la menor idea de todo lo que iba a vivir este día.

Last Sunday, with the intention of taking some photographs representative of Christmas in the Catholic Church, around 11 am, I went to the Church of La Anunciación del Señor, located in the urbanization of La Boyera in the municipality of El Hatillo, in the state of Miranda in Venezuela. When I arrived at the church I found it with the doors wide open, there were very few people, mostly church volunteers, who were making all the preparations for the 12 noon mass. So I got down to work and began to take pictures of all the Christmas decorations that were placed in the church, but I was surprised that nowhere I saw the traditional nativity scene, this seemed very strange to me until I found out that that day would be its inauguration and the respective ritual of blessing, that was why the nativity was nowhere to be seen, it was hidden until the end of the 12 noon mass (liturgy).

Upon entering, I observed that all the images were adorned with their respective Christmas arrangements, in the altar area they had placed several garlands of red flowers and on the right side of the figure of the Virgin Mary they had placed the Advent wreath with four candles, this day would be lit the third candle, being the third Sunday of this celebration, this day is also known as Gaudete Sunday or Sunday of joy. Moreover, the choir of the church was adorned with beautiful wreaths of flowers.

Little by little the church began to fill up, the parishioners began to arrive and almost before I knew it, the whole church was filled with people and the mass began.

Until the emotional moment of the inauguration and blessing of the nativity scene arrived, Father went to the area where it was hidden and together with several people proceeded to remove a piece of paper that covered the manger, thus leaving the beautiful nativity scene in view of all those present. Father said a few words and proceeded to bless the nativity and everyone present.

It turns out that the surprises of the day did not end there. At the end of the blessing of the nativity scene, they announced the birthday celebration of one of the church's collaborators, and invited those who wanted to stay to celebrate. So the singers of the church began to sing happy birthday and they even had a delicious chocolate cake.

To end on a high note, there was a blessing of Advent wreaths that some neighbors brought to the church.

Thus ended this intense day of pleasant emotions on the third Sunday of Advent of the month of December 2022, in the church of La Anunciación del Señor, in an atmosphere of total joy and enthusiasm, when I left my house on my way to church, I had no idea of all that I was going to live this day.
