Hoy les quiero contar que nuestra traviesa y cariñosa perrita Kyra, por querer sorprender con un beso a mi hijo Íker, quiso saltarle hasta la cara, agarrando un impulso tan fuerte que le metió la trompa en un ojo. Porque ella tiene la mala costumbre de agarrar desprevenida a la gente y besarles la boca. Afortunadamente, todas las personas que ella ha besado, han quedado muy contentas con la gracia de la perra. Pero esta vez fue muy lejos y la gracia terminó en una emergencia médica.

A raíz de lo sucedido Íker pasó toda la noche con el ojo adolorido, rojo y con la visión distorsionada. Al día siguiente, amaneció con menor molestia, con el ojo aún más enrojecido y la visión con el mismo problema, por lo cual, él estaba muy preocupado e insistía que quería que lo examinara un especialista. De modo que durante todo el día estuve haciendo gestiones para que lo viera un oftalmólogo, cuestión que no fue tan sencilla, pues como suele suceder durante las fechas navideñas casi todos los médicos se van de vacaciones y las pocas consultas ambulatorias por lo general están copadas.

Llamé a varias clínicas y en todas me informaron que no podían atenderlo por consulta ambulatoria, pues o no tenían el médico especialista disponible, o no disponían de cupo hasta mediados de enero 2023. Razón por la cual, casi al final de la tarde, tuvimos que acudir a una clínica por emergencia. Gracias a Dios que contamos con un seguro de HCM y pudimos ser atendidos con prontitud.

Afortunadamente, solo fue un susto, en la clínica le hicieron un exhaustivo chequeo oftalmológico y nos informaron que solo había una leve inflamación del ojo, para lo cual le indicaron tratamiento y regresamos contentos a la casa. Por supuesto la primera que se alegró al vernos llegar fue kyra, quien nunca supo lo que había hecho con sus efusivas demostraciones de amor.

Bueno, mis queridos hivers, hasta aquí llega este capítulo de cómo una insignificante travesura puede terminar en una emergencia médica. Cosas de la vida, por más que uno se cuide, no está exento de qué cuando menos lo imagine, ocurra algún accidente. De allí la gran importancia de procurar estar de alguna manera blindado con un buen seguro médico de respaldo.

Because she has the bad habit of catching people unawares and kissing their mouths. Fortunately, all the people she has kissed have been very happy with the dog's grace. But this time she went too far and the grace ended up in a medical emergency.

As a result of what happened, Íker spent the whole night with a sore, red eye and distorted vision. The next day, he woke up with less discomfort, with his eye even more red and his vision with the same problem, so he was very worried and insisted that he wanted to be examined by a specialist. So all day long I was making arrangements for him to see an ophthalmologist, which was not so easy, because as it usually happens during the Christmas season almost all the doctors go on vacation and the few outpatient consultations are usually full.

I called several clinics and all of them informed me that they could not attend him for outpatient consultation, because either they did not have the specialist available, or they did not have a vacancy until mid-January 2023. For this reason, almost at the end of the afternoon, we had to go to a clinic for emergency care. Thank God we have health insurance and were able to be seen promptly.

Fortunately it was just a scare, at the clinic he had a thorough check-up, they dilated her pupil and informed us that there was only a slight inflammation of the eye, for which they indicated treatment and we returned home happy. Of course the first one who was happy to see us arrive was Kyra, who never knew what she had done with her effusive demonstrations of love.

Well, my dear hivers, this is the end of this chapter of how an insignificant prank can end up in a medical emergency. Things in life, no matter how careful you are, you are not exempt from the possibility of an accident occurring when you least expect it. Hence the great importance of trying to be somehow shielded with a good medical insurance coverage.
