Index4Index #11 - Chuck Close on inspiration

"Amateurs wait for inspiration. The rest of us just get up and go to work."
Chuck Close
As I often do, today I picked a quote from someone I wasn't familiar with. I had to google Chuck Close to find out he was a famous photographer and painter and also that, unfortunately, he passed away recently.
I guess it makes sense that someone who does art for a living would say something like that and even though that is not my case, I agree with every word.
The other day someone made a thread on LeoFinance asking something along the lines of "what do you do when you can't find inspiration?" and there were many answers such as "listen to a song", "watch some videos" and what not and while I think they are all valid to some extent, Chuck Close said it best. Just get up and go to work.
I realized that what we tend to call a "lack of inspiration" is often the fear of starting something. The so-called "fear of the blank screen. I also found out that almost 100% of the time, as soon as I get started with whatever I'm attempting to do, inspiration comes almost magically.
