"The greater damage for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it."

Michelangelo

Although I'm familiar with some of the work by the great Michelangelo, I must admit I don't know a whole lot about his life. Judging by that quote, however, he sounds like a smart guy.

This quote is quite similar to one that I posted some days ago and it's about goals.

I like how it doesn't focus on achieving the goal, but on setting it because I believe it's where everything starts. Setting goals that are achievable but ambitious is critical to keep us motivated.

We must be prepared to deal with some level of frustration because it is possible we don't achieve those goals or achieve them only partially, but when we do hit the mark, the feeling is unlike anything else.

Also, even in those where we don't get exactly where we want, the journey alone is worth it. We don't need to excel in every single thing we do and it's ok to be mediocre in some aspects of our lives still, we should always have ambitious goals.
