Quote of the Day - Tokenized Society on complaining
Transcript for accessibility purposes:
“Don’t complain about something that you are doing nothing to change.“
Today's quote is by an unknown author called Tokenized Society. Yup, that's me.
I don't mean to praise myself and I don't think I'm worthy of being quoted but this is something I've been wanting to share for some time and I still haven't come across a quote by an actual famous person that conveys the idea the way I wanted, although I'm sure said quote exists somewhere.
But without further ado, let's dive deep into this idea.
First of all, I'm sure I was not the first person to think or even to state this but it's just something I try to live by. I actually do an evaluation of my personal values every year before I set my life goals and this idea is always present as one of my core values.
The idea here is I only allow myself to complain about something if I'm doing what I can to change it. Now, I'm fully aware that there are things in which I have very little influence but even in those cases, I still try to do my best, even if it's something as little as writing a letter to a competent authority fully aware that it will most likely never be read.
Only you can decide what is the best you can do so give it some thought and give it your best shot before you allow yourself to complain.
