Javelin is already quite an adult squirrel. His hind leg still does not work very well, but this does not prevent him from being an active and cheerful squirrel.

Can it be cured? Will it heal over time? My Harris's hawk broke her left leg in 2021. Fortunately/luckily she went through a successful surgery, and her leg has been completely healed in a few months.
Javelin has a damaged tendon. Unfortunately, he will limp all his life. But he is quite active and has enough movement for a normal squirrel life.
I hope he recovers soon. We don't have many red squirrels here in the UK anymore. They were our native species but they have dwindled in numbers since the grey squirrel was introduced into the UK.
Do they change color? Our squirrels are red in summer and gray in winter.
Every livingbeing has a joy of life.
I hope his paw heals. She is very cute, she looks so tender with her little food in her hand.
