Rain of kestrels

Hello my dear friends!
It's me. The one who said that during the war she did not take any animals or birds! Looks like it's kestrel fledgling season for me. Birds are brought every day... These are the chicks of this year, which did not have time to learn to fly, but already got into trouble.

The chick in the photo above is very weak. It came yesterday. I have a suspicion that it was the victim of a cat and this is always dangerous for birds.

The second chick has just arrived. It is much older. Despite its young age, it already shows the bad temper that all kestrels tend to have 😁

Judging by the color with the desire to flirt, this is a female. But more precisely, one can say either in comparison with a bird of the opposite sex or after the first change of plumage.

So far, both birds have been placed in a large cage rather than an aviary. So I can control their condition and appetite. As soon as I am sure that they eat well on their own, I will move them to a large enclosure.

In Ukrainian, the kestrel has a beautiful name Boryvyter - one who fights the wind.
