Trip to Abuja For The First Time

(Edited)

In my introductory post , I forgot to mention that I so much love to travel. In my 23 years in this country Nigeria, I have been to 7 states out of the 38 states. So you can see that I still have a long way to go if I want to achieve my dream which is to travel to all the 36 states if not all, probably half.

Today I took off a state from my list. which is the Federal Capital Territory. I have always wanted to go here. Why? because I have heard so much about it. the roads, the sight seeing, the food, the atmosphere etc. Although I wet there for a conference but I am i Abuja. So now, let's talk about my experience and a little site seeing on our way.

So, my journey started on the 17th November since we had to move very early the next day we also had to move with others for easy movement. The following day as we departed, we woke up as early as 4 am where we got ready and waited for the vehicle. When the vehicles came at around 6:30 am, we where we shuffled into the vehicles their reason being that we two nuisance can't be in the same vehicle and guess what, they said I was a nuisance can you just imagine. Well before getting to Abuja from Kwara, there are two major routes either through Lokoja or through Niger.

Well here are some pictures.

If you can sight me here, well kudos. We had to wait for like 30 mins or so before we moved and while waiting, we had to engage ourselves as I started the picture saga.

Well this was the vehicle I wanted to enter but I was shenked. Lolz. Not their fault since I frustrated those that also stayed in the same vehicle with me. Most of these people here, I seriously don't know them but we just clicked.

Okay this is the first hill I saw and I was excited but I was told to keep calm that I haven't seen anything yet.

This picture was taken in Niger State and I was told that the river is going towards Lokoja to meet River Benue making making this River Niger. We also passed through Kainji dam but I wasn't able to take pictures because it was quite far and the driver wasn't helping matters. But it was a sight to behold.

This is the famous Bida-Minnna road it was one of the worst road through out the entire journey. This was what gave me severe headache and body pain. The dust was something else. As we passed through, we could barely see the road because the dust was much. Concerning the road, I heard that the project has been given out but look at the result. All they keep doing is patching.

This is modern Minna. In this part, you will find all the classy buildings here. I saw the water corporation, some radio stations, over head bridges, some institutions etc. The road here are smooth and it is beautified with flowers by the road side. It was actually nice compared to the other parts where we just passed.

Not going so far, we had a flat tire where we all came down to stretch. This wasn't really the first time we stopping I guess the driver was tired of us. There was a time we stooped and the driver threatened to leave us and turn back. I didn't assist in the changing of the flat only if you call making jest of those helping. Well it was their punishment for calling me a nuisance. Kudos to them we were ale to fix the vehicle o time with me helping.

The hills in this part of the country gives a nice scenery. I saw a part in Minna where the hills were calling me ad I wondered to myself if I'm leaving here, Heave knows I will claim the hills. It will also be nice to to have a picnic or something there. The way houses are built was sweet and good to the eyes.

Nothig says welcome to Abuja than the zuma rock. This rock is featured in the #100 note and it was beautiful. I was told that the rock is filled with water. If you look closely, you will see a face like part o the rock as a result of blast. The rock really big ad mighty it is the biggest I have seen in my life and while looking at it, all that crossed my mind was how can can I claim it. Lolz.

Immediately we entered the state, I could feel the air change. It was kind of thinner. The journey was about 7 hours annd we spent most of this passing through Minna Niger state. Since I came here for a conference so I wasn’t able explore the environ probably till next time I get back to Abuja I will go sight seeing.

Till my next post,
Keep buzzing
I still remain Trojan
