Nature Is The Best Medicine - (Kiss #38)

I stand outside, surrounded by mountains, my bare feet on the soil. With my eyes closed, I take a deep breath. Letting my lungs fill up with air. Feeling myself sink into the ground, my roots travelling deep into the earth, connecting me with source.

Nature is here to guide you, as we all navigate our way through the year. Taking the time to slow down and observe what is happening in the natural world around you, is a wonderful reminder of what we also need to be doing.

Look to the trees, to the plants, see how they are responding to the passing of seasons. We too are beings of this earth and if we really wish to thrive, we need to reconnect with it more.

To embrace the wild more. To spend more of our time out of doors, away from this culture that has us worshiping false idols, in it's many forms. A culture that strives to teacher us how to control and dominant nature.

Hidding ourselves away from her many extremes, instead of embracing them, learning from them, which will ultimatley, bring our lives into balance. Living life, more instinctively. Understanding how we too are self healing, that we each have a huge capacity for growth and transformation.

When we relearn, how to embrace and engage with our whole being, our whole self. The rational and the wild. We deepen our knowledge and understanding.

It is so important that we begin to prioritise our relationship with the natural world. That we begin to reap the rewards of grounding and earthing ourselves. That we finally shift into the role of co creator and feel a part of the whole.

This longing that many people experience, a longing or a void. For something that they know that they should have, but believe that they have lost it or are being denied it. This is what they are missing and yet, they carry it within them all the time.

It just needs to be rediscovered, reignited.

I can not imagine how my life would have turned out, if I had not discovered the healing power of nature, when I was a child and had not held onto it. It has always been my sanctuary, my safe place. It is where I turn to, when I get overwhelmed.

To it's warm embrace.

It is where I feel most at home, most comfortable. Sitting outside in nature, is to me, the best form of meditation (along with dancing of course). To celebrate the life that surrounds us all.

I feel myself expanding, as I reach out and engage with my natural surroundings. As I deepen my knowledge of the wild plants that grow around me, plants that support and heal both the earth and me.

As I recently celebrated Solstice, I found myself dancing to open up more space, to shake off that which I no longer needed to carry. Then my focus fell on the seeds I wished to plant. My own personal seeds of growth and seeds that will unite my needs and the needs of the earth.

I allowed my body to move, calling on the elements of the earth and of water, to help prepare both my body and my mind. So that I was fully ready, to plant my seeds within.

I really believe we need to spend more time outdoors. I feel so lucky that I get to step outside, first thing in the morning. That my bare feet touch the earth, before I have even have time to fully awake. Indeed, I do not feel fully awake until I do so.

Starting my day, in other any other way, leaves me in a haze.

I walk everyday, taking the time to listen to the world around me. I take the time to engage with the trees. To bare witness to the fruits and seeds that they bare. To sit under them, feeling their energy merge with mine. Helping me to reach an inner stillness, that I then get to carry with me, waiting for me to tap into it, when I need it the most.

I simply close my eyes, no matter where I am and I feel that energy once again.

This is my response to the latest Kiss Blogging Ideas prompt, which is all about Eco Therapy.

My healing is lways connected with nature, becuse I too, am a part of nature and coming to that realisation, brings with it the greatest healing of all. In my eyes, you can never truly heal, unless you reonnect with who you are, which in turn reconnects us with the earth. We are children of the soil, after all.
