Love at first sight 😍
Went on Facebook to shop some fresh silver after a long time... I am withholding myself these days from making any purchases, as imo the prices sellers are asking are just ridiculous. Often 2x or even 3x the spot price, lol. And auctions don't seem to be a thing these days, so sniping at steal prices is not an option either. I ended up buying some small cheap swedish silver coins of very low purity (0.400) for a total of 6 euro. I still overpaid considering spot but I really liked their simplistic design and hey, 6 euros is like nothing..I guess I'll skip a meal 😆 No spoilers though, I will make a reveal post when they arrive.
While I was browsing I stumbled upon a two oz piece somebody was trying to sell for 400 euros. I immediately fell in love with it but no way I am fucking paying that much for 60 grams of silver. Still it is such an amazing piece I think it's worth a share.

The coin is minted by Niue Island and is named "PERSEUS" by the series DEMIGODS or something like that. Mintage is really low, just 650 pieces. In case Greek mythology isn't your thing, the coin features Perseus moments before beheading Medusa. It's a fun story give it a read.
I also found it on eBay for 250$ but again that's a price I am not willing to pay. I'd much prefer to buy some gold at these money. If you want to gift it to me though.. I won't say no 😆

Those are some expensive coins and the video shows how reflective the mirror is. I guess all that attention to detail really increased it's price by a lot.

Those Europeans sure do know how to mint a coin. Over here in Australia, we get boring shit. Although, recently the mint starting putitng colour on coins. In circulation, the colour falls off - but it's a bit of fun to encounter one. Although the prices for those are bullshit. There is a $2 coin from 2013 I think, with a red poppy on it. Was linked to war remembrance, but - would you believe the coin is selling QUICKLY at $800-950 each uncirculated!!

These are definitely coins for a different breed of collectors. Companies like artoncoins, powercoins and first coin company are targeting a niche market of high relief, high quality, low mintage and high priced coins. There was a awesome coin commemorating the San Jose Spanish Galleon produced by one of theses companies but the price earned this coin a spot on my No-Hope-in-Hell wish list.

These are stacker coins they are for higher end collectors. It’s a very specific niche of person. The mintage is that low because target buyers aren’t that high either. If there was a big market for them they’d be pumping them out. But it is a very cool coin. Ask Santa….🤣
