Got a surprise letter from overseas! No idea what's inside, let's take a peek!

It's a belated Christmas card, woohoooooooooo! Well, it came from so far away, it's understandable it would arrive a bit late. And it's the thought that matters 🎉

Yo trumpman

Hope you have a good Christmas buddy! Though it's probably spring now, I sent this on Dec 13th lol. All the best in 2023

@summertooth

Oooooff! At least it's not spring yet 😂

Included were also two small gifts. Small and light enough to not draw the customs suspicions I guess 😋

This Merry Christmas idiot (thanks!) sticker:

And one silver Mercury dime from 1942:

It's morning here and I am still drinking my coffee so I'll have chatgbt do the heavy lifting for those of you who want to know more about this little fella:

Mercury dimes were minted from 1916 to 1945. The dimes minted in 1942 were made of 90% silver and 10% copper. They have a diameter of 17.9mm and a weight of 2.5 grams. The obverse (front) of the coin features a portrait of Liberty wearing a winged cap, which is said to resemble the Roman god Mercury, hence the name "Mercury dime." The reverse (back) of the coin features a fasces, an olive branch, and the denomination. The 1942 Mercury dime had a mintage of over 216 million.

My us coin stack is quite small and if I remember right this is my first Mercury dime. I do have some dimes but they all feature a gay ol dude called Rooster or something. So a great little addition for the stack 🥳

By the way, this is the second gift @summertooth sends me. I guess I own him a blowjob it something 😘🍼💦😉

The dimes minted in 1942 were made of 90% silver and 10% copper.

1942? What about 1916-1941 & 1943-1945? Unless the difference is the 10% (copper instead of something else)?

Most US coinage was 90/10 silver/copper through 1964, then it all went to hell with shitty alloy ;)

This I already knew. I was questioning the way the quoted statement was made because it made it seem as if the 10% metal was something else in years not 1942. You and @trumpman knew better, but I questioned the source the quote came from.

Nice dime. There were like 216 million of them so it looks like quite a few were made but at least you got to increase your own stack.
