I Am #AliveAndThriving Today! | #IAmAliveChallenge Hive Daily Journal Entry: Day #115 - An Elder's Birthday, and a Productive and Enjoyable Day! - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Saturday, November 19, 2022
The beginning of these posts was my My Life Just Hit a Brick Wall at High Velocity, on the Cusp of My 50th Birthday: Mid Life Crisis 101 post. I link that post because I want to give my readers some useful context for what I write in these posts.
Warm greetings all! 🙏 💚
What a beautiful Saturday it was! The beauty was not only in the fantastic weather, but also in the lovely flow of my day! My morning was spent, in my customary way, up at the Flow House, drinking my food-of-the-gods superfood fire coffee (I call it 'coffee', though in truth coffee is only one of many components), chillin' with my adorable gecko friends, and doing my morning Hive post. This morning I was a tad distracted because Nerian, Brittany's very talkative four-year-old decided he wanted to come up to the Flow House with me. He hung out with me for a while and talked my ear off. Brittany finally came up to collect him after about forty-five minutes, restoring my solitude. Once I was alone again, I could focus on creating and publishing my Index4Index Daily Inspired Motivation: Don't Force Success! post, and catching up well on Hive before leaving my lava perch to go do some work.
I usually get some of my own personal tasks done first, before I dive into more community-focused work. This morning that was chopping an older coconut for the meat, which I put in a jar in the fridge for my daily superfood fire coffee. I also sharpened my Fijian machete, which I planned on using later in the day. Both of those tasks took me far longer than usual because Iolanthe and Miria kept wanting to play by painting me with their paint brushes (they were up by the car ports and the Shop painting some experimental modular, movable sheep fencing that's in the process of being built), and then 'helping' me clean off with the hose, which was really just getting completely drenched, over and over.
Once I escaped the painting-and-hose-spraying cycle, I went to Tutu to get some water, and ended up brining back some ground beef to the Landing to make a cheese burger. This is the first time in a long while that I actually made food for myself in the afternoon. It was very filling and satisfying.
After eating my burger, I went to do another round of cleaning, clearing, and leveling in front of the Bedouin, in preparation for the arrival of new people. I worked there for about an hour, and I had it looking immensely better than beforehand.
Today is Kana's 75th birthday, and several of us walked up to the Flow House with him to hold something of an appreciation circle for him. It was so curious seeing so many people up at the Flow House. It started to rain very heavily for a short while during our time there.
Aside from a few short tasks, like bringing two large bins of wood from the Shop to the Flow House for fires, I didn't do anything too strenuous until around sunset. With my mind on doing various things, I forgot to go reflection hunting while it was still bright and sunny out, instead going to find reflections near sunset. Because the sun was going down fast, I grabbed my trusty portable, adjustable round mirror to see what I could find. I went up onto the lava, as the light was still pretty good there, and I took several shots, some quite interesting.
With reasonable reflection photos taken, I grabbed my machete and headed to my nursery to do a little more up-potting before going to do some land clearing until sunset. I got another handful of plants put into larger pots, which felt great to me! After playing with my plants, I went full beast mode and cleared another big swathe next to where I cleared yesterday. Bryan, Ano, and a few of the kids, were planting bananas, so I cleared all around them. I worked until I it got too dark to see, and which point I went to Tutu to take a shower, and then back to the Landing to strain out one quart jet of kefir to put in the fridge to chill.
With the kefir strained, I returned to the Flow House to focus on catching up on Hive, and then putting together and publishing My Entry for Reflection Hunters Contest: Round 92 - Mirror Fun on the Lava, and then beginning this post.
After uploading the photos and doing a little formatting, I paused and went to the Landing to blend my now chilled kefir with honey, cinnamon, and cacao. With that done, I retired to the Flow House to write this post.
It was a lovely, full day for me here at GaiaYoga, and I'm quite sleepy now, so I'm going to end this post, drink my kefir deliciousness, then zonk out. I wish you all a gorgeous night! Until tomorrow! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️❇️✳️👣🌱✨

Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! 😁🙏💚
