Hiking At Dawaki Mountain

I have been extremely occupied lately and I don’t always have time for things of fun. I sleep less and it is already affecting my health and I just want to do something else aside from sitting and facing the computer every day. Sometimes I feel like taking time off, but the bills kept me working. Inflation has affected everything and, as someone that has many people to cater to, I have to always do more.

However, I took some hours off work today to have some fun. I went on a group hike. It is one of the most active hikers in Abuja. I joined them today, and it was fun. We played a lot of games and did some burn exercises.

The group of hikers have a few guns and anyone with shooting ability can aim at a distance on the mountain. I missed my shots but was not too bad. I am not a sharpshooter, lol!

We did four games. The first one started before we climbed the mountain. They shared us in 4 teams with over 12 people in a group. The first game is for each team to find a pole while climbing and put on a flag. Then each team must get 5 fresh flowers on their way to the top. My team could not get a long poll but we did what we could, and we got the 5 flowers. But 2 among the other teams got a long bamboo, and they raised their flags tall. They got a decent point on that and our point was low.

We got a better point on the flowers and so are other teams. After the flowers, we did a game that every member of a team will kneel and use mouth to pick up a disposable cup then run toward the group leader. There were a lot of cheats in this part of the game and they disqualified it.

The fourth activity was Squid game. Not squid, thug of war. There are hefty men in every team and I am not among the top 3. I used to be that guy that gym a lot, but since I got really busy with computer, my physical activities reduced very well. I am planning to get more active again just to improve my health and physical look. They are pretty important.

The thug of war was fun. My team won 3 times and lost the last. However, at the end of the event, my team came second in every activity. The activities are just for fun, no reward attached. I was thrilled I made out time for this. After the activities, we all went to a restaurant and ate. It was a fun day. We can’t always work. Having fun is also essential.
