I would rather focus on a circle than on a thing.

F.O.C.U.S. There are millions of content and quotes around these five-letter words on the internet and in books. The first time I got attracted to the word was when someone turned it into the acronym “Follow One Course Until Success”. It makes sense really and I know following one course until success works.

However, I lived in a family where we believe in running a business than working for companies. My parents were self-made and all of my siblings are currently running their businesses. My mum was excellent at producing lubricants of all kinds. She was among the most successful people in the Lubrication field in the early 90s in Nigeria. Her products moved around Nigeria. She started with producing thick grease, then she included Lithium grease, radiator coolant, and others. This made it so that her company received orders for different products every day.

This is just what many other companies are doing today. One company produces over 10 or 20 products and makes massive sales every day.

Now, as a human, what makes you think following only one thing will drive your success? One thing can truly bring success, but the chances are low. So, we all need a backup.

The Backup.

Our life is a factory and you can either be one thing or be multiple things. Focusing on one thing makes you be the master of one thing. However, consistency in building the wrong thing can be frustrating. Imagine a software developer working on a basic notepad application and thinking that will bring him success?

Within the last 4 years, I have been focusing on a circle rather than one thing. I added more skills to my skill set. I have my tech start-up. I am working on dapps, apps, and crypto exchanges that can bring an actual solution. The investment system that I have around my business has kept me functioning. I do not focus on just one thing; I focus on the circle of what I know how to do. Everything I do stays in the circle since I understand tech and finance.

So, while you focus on that one thing, build up a little backup. Not all success stories lie in the product you build for 5 years.

I hope we all share our success story one day.
