How Do You Breathe?

In our world today, a lot of things happen. Man is a fellow man's greatest enemy. The inhumanity of man to a fellow man has become a distasteful sight. Leaders are corrupt, loathing the nation's treasury has become a norm to merry about, friends have knitted cloaks of hatred and spite for one another.

Lovers have turned their backs against each other, soul mates have become heart robbers, words can no longer be trusted, they have become dreadful weeds dispersed by the winds. Hearts wrecks of pains and stories of anguish yet untold.

How do we tell these stories, how do we breathe knowing that at some point, we were the reason someone had to sleep in a pool of tears. The world's humanity loses its beauty and touch if our voyage here is devoid of healthy human relationships and empathy.

How Do You Breathe?

How do you breathe when your conscience,
Has been razzled by the fire of hell,
When the wails and anguish of those victimized,
Does not sting your ungodly soul,
Nor make your eyes twinkle at their hurts and pleas.

….
….

How do you breathe, when you pray for blessings,
But those blessings are accursed by the monstrous pains,
You made us feel,
How do you breathe at the thought of our children's innocence taken away,
And our offspring made almost inhuman.

….
….

You offer supplication, you utter harmonious sounds of varying psalms,
You chant and confess ungodly acts and for atonement of sins burn candles,
You burn red, blue, white, yellow candles,
And today, you are confused what color of candles to burn.

....
….

How do you shine to heavens your masqueraded pretty face,
With such audacity after,
Desecrating our altars,
Plowing our farms,
And making a thorn of bed out of a pool of bloody hell.

....
….

How would you merry,
After destroying destinies,
Withering Flowers,
Clobbering our future,
And impeding our red roses from blooming.

....
….

The pains and loss have become palpable,
The loss of dreams accomplished,
Of love unreciprocated,
Of death rolling it's scary pang at us.

….
….

The inextricable pains,
Of lust unsatisfied,
Of wings clipped,
Of life unassured

….
….

The loss we feel are the fears for tomorrow,
For lost identities,
For destinies bashed,
Of truth unspoken.

….
….

The loss of our fields untiled,
Of blood and wine,
Toasted at a convo,
Of dreams dispersed,
Like flowers laid off by the wind.

….
….

How do I tell these stories?
How do I face my ancestors?
How do you breathe,
Knowing that we died a thousand deaths for taking our breath in our prime.

This is very heartbreaking 💔. The heart of man is desperately wicked.
