My 2021 Crypto Memories: Wins, lessons, challenges, engagements, regrets

Hurray! congratulations to everyone of us that made it to 2022. Scaling through the 365 days of year 2021 that has become a history wasn't easy. I'm glad I didn't give up and you reading this post didn't either. We made it, we made it to a new year, another beginning and we have yet another opportunity to make right what we failed in the last year. We've got another opportunity to be happy and importantly add value and share love to humanity.

I noticed @galenkp's weekly Weekend writing prompt a week ago and wished to participate. Glad that this weekend's prompts are areas I want to lend my voice. He's doing a great deal within The Weekend community and you could also have some experience there. In this post, I try to share my crypto moments and memories from 2021: the engagements, investment lessons/ regrets, wins/challenges as well as the way forward for year 2022. It's all my story and I hope it'll thrill, inspire and challenge someone.

1. CUB Airdrop that ran into over $300
My first awesome moment on Hive and in the cryptoverse on 2021 was in March when I became wealthier by $342 being CUB airdrop from the LeoFinance community.

That was really a big free gift. Actually the biggest I ever got before that time. That sum was very instrumental to my many investment I made on Hive in the second quarter of 2021. I farmed part of the CUB and got some more profits.

2. My Crypto-funded house development project

About the beginning of the second quarter of 2021, I started a housing project at the new station I was posted to and it got almost 80% of its funding from my crypto holdings. I had shared some thoughts in this post as to how to get funds for the project.

That was my first time of getting involved in a building project and the wealth of experience gathered was huge. From sinking the soakaway/septic pit to finishing the two bedroom apartment to livable standard, was a great achievement I can point to in 2021.

3. My $900 Monthly Earning and ATHs
I hasd halted my engagements on Hive for a long time from March to June 2021. Maybe I was busy, I can't really figure out what happened. However, when I finally boosted my engagement by the last quarter of 2021, it was an amazing journey. I earned $900 in a single month (November) from my Hive posts. The earnings did cut through main and second layer tokens and it was a record high for me.

Moreover, I had my ATH single post earning in November 2021. The highest I would earn from a single post to date is $89 and glad the new record was set in 2021. Hoping to set another record this time and perhaps over $100

Another amazing record I broke in 2021 was the pooling over $4 in a single upvote of all my second layer curation holdings. That's a huge value for me and I hope we can do better in 2022.

Option two
If you could change one thing you personally did in 2021 what would it be and why would you change it?

There are a few things I would love to change about 2021 if I had the ability to do so. One of such is my investment priorities. There were some tokens I had neglected and they turned to be wealth pot of Hive in 2021. I also failed being consistent in creating contents for over 5 months of 2021. That made me lose a lot of income and investment funds. I learnt my lessons and will do better with consistent engagement in 2022.

If you wanted to give me or someone else on hive some advice from something you learned in 2021 to carry forward into 2022, what would it be and why? How do you think it would help me or whomever you chose to hand it to, how did you learn that wisdom and would you personally carry it into the new year also? Why?

Below are summarized a few advice I would give to someone else on Hive. They are drawn from my experiences and are still valid guides for me in 2022.

✨ Consistency is the spelling for "success". Success on Hive requires consistency. Just keep doing that thing, it'll someday pay.
✨ Never invest more than you can afford to lose. Always do your research and not just follow the FUD trend.
✨ Second layer tokens/communities are the future of Hive. Look for a community and stick around.

Tell us about your 2022 goals and what plans you have set in place to achieve them. How will you track your progress, mitigate the risk of failure to achieve them and how will you celebrate when you attain them?

Year 2022 already looks cool and greeny. Now is the time to start the actions that would help deliver the expected successes of year 2022. In a few days, I'll be sharing #myhivegoals and I hope to break them into monthly and weekly achievable goals.
