Market Friday Goes To A Neighbouring Fried Yam Seller

HELLO HIVE

It's another Friday, meaning the day that ushers us into the weekend, a breath of fresh air and relief from the countless activities we've engage on during the week days, and one of the way I made mine worthwhile, was to visit a neighboring street seller close to my store, to purchase some fried yam for lunch.

Base on the tight schedule I've been having in the past few days, since I have to make Footwear's for my clients, there was also a need to gather every afternoon since Wednesday, for the marking coordination of the just concluded West African Examination Council (WAEC), which is a final examination done by students in high school, which would later grant them admission into University, base on how well they perform.

Being a per-time teacher and I regular in the marking exercise, which is one of the way I earn extra cash, I dash out of the house early today, without taking breakfast, so I can quickly complete some of the pending footwear projects before the time for the coordination comes, and I realize it's almost time and I'm starving, I decided to visit this woman who sell fried yam and potatoes close to my store.

So on getting to her store, I meet other people waiting in turn for the fried yam to fried perfectly, and by the time it got to my turn, I purchased yam of 300 naira($0.5), I also purchased potatoes 200 naira ($0.4), and two beef, which was sold at 100 naira each, that's ($0.4), and in total everything I brought from her was $1.3.

And although each single piece of the the yam and potatoes were sold at 10 naira each, meaning I'll get 30 pieces of yam for the value of what I brought, and 20 pieces of potatoes for the value of what I purchased, and that's obviously too much for me to consume alone, so the major reason I purchased that much was to eat it alongside my partner in the store and our apprentices.

Above are some image of when it got to my turn and she wanted to sell mine, you can see here picking some papers were the yam would be place, and after that she added some stew sauce to go perfect.

That's was about all my experience in the market today, and once I got back to the store, we all eat to our satisfaction, after which I took all necessities like pen, dummy and marking guide and proceed to the Venue of the marking coordination.

I'll love to appreciate @dswigle for the impact she as made on the blockchain via #MarketFriday Community which bring different people together in a way where we get to view and know other people's market experience and tradition.

Thanks so much for all you do, till we meet in the next write-up, stay bless.

I wonder what kind of sauce comes with that? Here fried sweet potato cooked over sugary is a common street food we call camote cue and also banana we call banana cue :D It is convenient to have vendors like that that we can buy food from making our lives easier :)

It's actually just a common type of pepper and beef sauce stew that we are use to here.

They are indeed a blessing to us as we don't need to spend time cooking always, nor have to walk several miles to get meal.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts, have a blessed day.
