Blending Cards to Trade Liquidity For Rarity | An Overlooked Risk in NFT Investing

avatar

The two types of Blending are Festival World Tour and Seasonal Special Missions Blending. My favorite so far has been FTB6 The Risen. 52 Wristbands with 25 Fans each get Blended for 4 Cards which can be then Blended into FTB5 The Risers. The best part comes at the final stage which is a massive increase in stats. FTB6 The Risen and STARBITS Millionaire are the two best decisions I have made playing @risingstargame

If you are not player, log in here with Keychain and get started. The developers of the game de-emphasize the financial aspect of the game. They want the players to focus on having a fun time. That is not to say that players cannot make a profit or at least get some value back for the time they put into the game.

All the effort a player put into a game like World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Fortnite, Hearthstone are gone forever (or at least very difficult to cash out). Games built on Blockchain (or other DLT) can avoid this pitfall making them more attractive for those of us value our time. Vast majority of @risingstargame assets can be traded on an open market with blockchain helping to secure transaction without having to put your faith on some company or middleman in traditional games.

An Elfy Dose of Christmas Turned Out Great

S48 Christmas Elf = 15,000 STARBITS
S49 Christmas Bagpipes = 240,000 STARBITS
S50 Christmas Drum = 115,000 STARBITS
Total Value = 370,000 STARBITS

You can read more details if you are interested through the article I linked. I have no intention of buying more Special Cards to Blend. It is an expensive endeavor. I don't have to do that with S49 Christmas Bagpipes.

This is a process I would like to see automated. It makes scaling and maintain the game easier for developers while improving the user experience at the same time.

Know The Risk of Lack of Liquidity

It is easy to get distracted by price. Always keep in mind that ROI is only realized after the sale/trade is made. So far 380 Cards have been burned to create S49a Christmas Bagpipes Cards (without counting the Cards that are currently in the process of manual issuance). This is the current state of the market:

I refreshed the page and there was still nothing to see. There are no sellers and it is unlikely that there will be many buyers looking specifically for this NFT. I don't even get an increase of the Stats. The 10 Luck each card had merely got combined into 1 Card with 100 Luck. This is a risky place to be in for a player who is in a hurry to cash out.

This is Not Exclusive to @risingstargame

Fungible Tokens tend to have an easier time selling. Any STARPRO is similar to another STARPRO except in transaction history. The rare NFTs can have higher values which is going to shrink the pool of potential buyers who can afford to make the purchase. It is easy to get distracted by the sale of some NFT that cost millions of dollars. Try to see if there is a resale and look at the price and time it took for the sale.

The Future of Rising Star

There are new developments coming. The project was improving itself even during the bear market conditions. This is why I feel comfortable having illiquid assets in the game. If you have HIVE Power, you can vote for Proposal 226 on DHF to give the project 214 HBD per day.
