Happy 13th birthday Bitcoin: What a journey !

Hello HODLers,

Today marks the 13th anniversary of the Bitcoin White Paper:

On October 31, 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto released the Bitcoin white paper to a cryptography mailing list hosted by Metzdow.
For information, the Metzdow mailing list was run by a group of cypherpunk

I always thought it was quite funny that it was published just before Haloween, I always imagined Satoshi Nakamoto publishing Bitcoin's WP and then putting on its costume and leaving to its Haloween Party :D.

I feel so blessed to be in this field for the past few years, I have enjoyed the journey so far and I can see that it will continue to take most of my free time !

I love how dynamic and crazy this space is and I will not be anywhere else. My brain is challenged every day and that is what life is all about ! Find something you love and just go with it.

It is crazy to think that at the time, this white paper wasn't that well received by the community.

Only a handful of people saw Nakamoto’s email and even replied with their thoughts and concerns surrounding this new "Bitcoin" cryptocurrency.

Hal Finney is well-known in the cryptocurrency space for being involved in the first Bitcoin transaction and being the first person after Nakamoto to run a copy of the network through a node.

As you can see after running its node, he wrote this tweet probably referring to the "just setting up my twttr" by Jack Dorsey.

Bitcoin Pizza Day

Then we had, almost a year later the Bitcoin Pizza Day which we celebrate every year !

On May, 18 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz a devekioer wrote a post on the Bitcointalk forum offering 10,000 Bitcoin for a couple of pizzas.

It was not until May, 22nd that somebody accepted and this day was even claimed to be a great milestone by a Bitcointalk user.

These 2 pizzas are worth more than $600mn in today's world. Crazy right?

More is coming !

In October, the first Bitcoin ETFs were launched in the United States definitely ackowledging that Bitcoin and the cryptoindustry have reached mainstream and institutional investors.

But we have so much innovation in every sector. Hive and Leofinance being an example in the Social Network / Gaming sectors. We have DeFi protocols, many 2nd layer protocols, NFTs, insurance, betting,...

All of this was a possibility talked about by Satoshi in the early days:

In some way I would LOVE to know more about Satoshi Nakamoto but on the other hand, I feel it is part of the Bitcoin's narrative and the beauty of our field.

Stay safe out there and keep taking advantage of the many opportunities in the Crypto World.

I always wonder who the real Satoshi is and whether or not the funds locked in his wallet will ever move. It definitely has changed quite a bit over time with BTC becoming much more valuable.

Quite a bit is an understatement 😅.

Maybe it is the US fix behind it ! And they fooled us 😃
