El UFC Fight Night del sábado 17-09-22, tenia como pelea estelar, Cory Sandhagen vs Song Yadong, combate interesante en la categoría de peso gallo, donde Yadong se estaba buscando un importante ascenso, porque se ubica número 9 del ranking y ganando subiría escalones. Por parte de Sandhagen, necesitaba una victoria, venia de 2 derrotas consecutivas, esta en el top 5 de la división y debe mantenerse en la elite para buscar una lucha por el titulo pronto. Ambos emplean una lucha interesante a nivel de striking, se prometía una buena pelea y exactamente eso dieron en el octágono.

On Sandhagen's side, he needed a victory, he was coming from 2 consecutive defeats, he is in the top 5 of the division and must stay in the elite to look for a title fight soon. Both fighters put up an interesting fight in terms of striking, it promised to be a good fight and that's exactly what they gave in the octagon.
El mercado chino es fundamental, por ello la UFC quiere tener una estrella y Song Yadong es lo mas interesante ahora mismo en la compañía. Traía una gran racha de 3 victorias consecutivas, enfrentar a un top seria un gran impacto en su carrera y realmente lucio muy bien. Son 24 años de edad, aun tiene mucho futuro en la compañía, puede seguir trabajando, hay potencial en este peleador y lo veo llegando al top 5 en algún momento. Cory Sandhagen para mi es lo mas talentoso que tiene el peso gallo, impresionante los recursos que tiene, puede hacer daño de cualquier manera, totalmente impredecible y su velocidad estuvo a gran nivel.

He was on a great 3 fight winning streak, facing a top contender would be a big impact on his career and he really looked good. Song Yadong de menos a mas - Song Yadong from low to high
Seria la primera pelea estelar para Song Yadong en su joven carrera, combate a 5 asaltos, donde todo es distinto, hay que manejar muy bien el cardio y estar preparado por si la pelea se extiende. Se vio muy paciente en el primer asalto, no estaba lanzando muchos golpes, Cory lo intento derribar en varias ocasiones y mantuvo una gran defensa contra derribos. Estaba fuerte Song Yadong, hizo un gran corte de peso, lo cual le ayudo aguantar toda la presión que estaba ejerciendo Sandghagen al comienzo de la pelea y pienso que su estrategia era ir de poco a poco.
Arranca el segundo round, Song Yadong comienza a soltar las manos, cuenta con mucha potencia y lo hizo retroceder a Sandghagen. El flaco talentoso de Cory, empezó a mostrar respeto, ya no se iba tanto al frente y quiso jugar a la distancia, pues Song Yadong pega muy duro y ahora era el quien ejercía toda la presión. Lo malo seria el corte, Song Yadong fue cortado en la ceja, llegando un poco al nivel de sus ojos y eso lo perjudicaría mas adelante en la pelea. Seguía protegiendo muy bien los derribos, me fuera gustado que intentara patadas, para cuando Cory se agachara, intentar conectarlo, pero de igual forma la defensa estaba perfecta.
Llegamos al tercer asalto, Cory Sandhagen debe estar ganando por puntos, pero la pelea esta muy cerrada, los golpes de poder los tiene Song Yadong y la presión ahora estaba totalmente de su parte. Conecta muchos golpes fuertes al rostro, corta las salidas de Sandhagen y se arriesga un poco mas al intercambio. Me gusto ver esto, sabiendo que su rival tiene mas herramientas, se tuvo confianza, sabia que el poder estaba de su lado y la pelea se emparejo mucho en estas instancias. El cardio de Song Yadong estaba perfecto, no fue ningún problema los 5 asaltos, se veía fresco al momento de entrar en el 4to round.
Song Yadong elevo mucho el ritmo de pelea, mientras mas presionaba, mejor le estaba yendo en el octagono, aunque lamentablemente, aquí en este 4to round, fue donde también recibió mas castigo por parte de Cory, quizás no eran golpes tan fuertes, pero si muy efectivos y la cortada del segundo round, ya estaba un poco mas grande y el médico decidió detener el combate. Perdió a través de un TKO, no estaba viendo nada por el ojo izquierdo, bien detenida la pelea, aunque estuvo muy entretenida y Song Yadong hizo una gran performance, puede competir contra la elite y mas adelante a medida que avance su carrera, lo puedo ver ganando a varios del top 5 y entrando en esas posiciones.

Cory Sandhagen salió muy agresivo, directamente comenzó a buscar derribos, quiso colocar presión rápidamente, quería acabar la batalla lo antes posible, pero tuvo un contrincante muy complicado, lo cierto es que la movilidad fue clave, jamás estuvo plantado, siempre fue girando por todo el octágono, cambiando de guardia constantemente, lo que hacia muy difícil a Song Yadong descifrarlo y gracias a su alcance podía conectar desde lejos. El jab fue muy efectivo, también las patadas al cuerpo y en muchas ocasiones buscando la rodilla en elevación, todos estos golpes le otorgan muchos puntos y así estaba dominando en las tarjetas.
Lanzando tantos jabs, pudo engañar a Song Yadong, pues hizo el movimiento de lanzar un recto y termino recogiendo para impactar con el codo. Aquí fue donde gano la batalla, segundo round, donde todo estaba aun muy parejo, pero ese corte al nivel de los ojos, a medidas de pegarle mas en esa zona, se iba seguir abriendo y eso lo sabia perfectamente Cory Sandhagen. Busco mucha la zona del ojo, pegaba el jab a cada momento y también otros cuantos codos en ciertos pasajes del combate. El volumen de golpes lo tenia Cory, fue quien intento mas, tanto arriba como abajo, pero siempre golpeando y buscando abrir mas la herida del corte.
El tercer round donde mejor le fue a su rival(Song Yadong), Cory estuvo sumamente inteligente, pego con menos frecuencia, pero si conecto mucho en el ojo, se podía prevenir que pronto se detiene el combate, ya estaba entrando el doctor a cada momento, evaluando el corte y Sandhagen sabia que por ahí debería buscar la victoria. Con velocidad entraba fácilmente en la guardia de Song Yadong, golpeaba y luego se iba de la corta distancia, seguía moviéndose de lado a lado, gran cardio el que lleva Cory, muy impresionante llevando ese ritmo de combate y pegando tanto de diferentes maneras.
Después de tanto intentarlo, para el 4to round Cory Sandhagen conseguía un derribo, siendo crucial en la batalla, porque aquí conecto mucho desde el suelo, ejecuto bien la lucha, golpeando con ground and pound, impactando todos los golpes en el rostro y obviamente castigando fuertemente la herida de Song Yadong. Seria todo para terminar la pelea, aquí ganaría el combate por TKO y demostrando que sigue siendo un peleador temible. Muy divertido ver a Cory, a nivel de striking debe ser de lo mejor del UFC, patadas peligrosas, rodillas intimidantes, gran jab, golpes rectos de derecha y mucha movilidad que va sumado a gran alcance. Brillante lo de Cory Sandhagen, ¡Gran victoria!

"Quizás una pelea mas contra Chito Vera o Merab Dvalishvili. Esas son las dos opciones obvias", palabras de Cory Sandhagen haciendo alusión, que desea pelear nuevamente este año y esos dos nombres son los que el considera importantes. ¿Por qué me inclino por Vera? Pues el ecuatoriano respondió, "si él quiere eso, él puede conseguirlo". Chito actualmente es el número 5 de la división y Cory esta situado en el puesto número 4. Para ambos seria un combate importante, la victoria los coloca en posición de campeonato y para el espectador seria una batalla espectacular.
Chito ha sido un peleador muy subestimado, pensaban que no podía ganarle a los hombres duros, sin embargo esta situado en un lugar importante, ganando frente a Cory Sandhagen, daría un gran golpe en la mesa, nadie pudiera hablar mal sobre el ecuatoriano nuevamente y directo tendría que pelear por el cinturón. Cory tuvo la oportunidad del titulo interino el año pasado, perdió contra Petr Yan, por lo cual esta batalla, seria mucho mas importante para Chito y realmente espero que si pueda suceder. No se si seria este año, Sandhagen recibió castigo por parte de Song Yadong, queda poco tiempo para finalizar el año y no se si pueda recuperarse tan rápido.
Sinceramente Sandhagen es un peleador con mas habilidades, también mucho mas rápido, pero Chito Vera tiene una pegada muy fuerte, viene dando importantes KO's a sus rivales y Cory es un hombre que recibe castigo. ¿Podrá aguantar la potencia de Vera? Tengo mis dudas, habría que verlo, pero Chito tiene la pegada para ganarle a cualquier peleador de un solo golpe y por ello es un contrincante muy temido. Sandhagen ganaría por puntos, lo puedo asegurar de una vez, pero si la batalla es a 5 rounds, hay mucha oportunidad para Chito de conectar con potencia y terminar ganando. Toca esperar cual será la decisión de Dana White, pero este combate seria muy bonito de ver, la división de peso gallo es increíble, muchos peleadores de gran nivel y Chito Vera se encuentra en la candela.

Me habria gustado que ganara Yadong, de verdad que es bastante bueno. Una pelea entretenida, y una victoria que ponde mas candela a la division, veamos que sucede. Por ahora estoy ansioso por la pelea de Sugar vs Yan, y obviamente por la titular que se viene pronto.
Tenía grandes oportunidades de ganar, para mí la pelea estaba muy cerrada, quedaba un solo round y quién termina mejor, pudiera llevarse la pelea, lamentablemente el corte cerca del ojo fue muy duro.
Eso se viene el próximo mes, yo también deseo verla, mi peleador favorito es Yan, pero una parte de mi, quiere que gane Sugar, me gustan las sorpresas jeje.
Hola @wensports me decidí a leer tu post porque hace tiempo pensaba, me gusta como escribe este chico pero no sigo absolutamente nada de deportes y no tengo idea de qué hablarte al respecto, pero me di cuanta leyéndote ahora que no me hace mucha falta saber demasiado del tema para comprender lo que estás comentando.
Realmente creas un buen contexto antes de desarrollar el evento y detallar el combate, por lo que con ese preámbulo pude seguir bastante bien el sentido de la pelea y comprender el sentido que tiene para cada individuo ganar el combate.
Sentía un poco que estaba escuchando los comentarios por radio mientras te leía, lo haces bastante bien jajaja me entretuve un rato aunque no tuviera ni idea de quienes me hablabas.
Primeramente muchas gracias @ninaeatshere, para mí es una gran placer que me digas esto, me motiva y me da ganas de seguir en este buen camino.
Con solo el tomarte el tiempo de leer, ya eso es más que gratificante, a veces las palabras se me quedan corta, pronto daré el salto hacia algo más visual, pero bueno poco a poco trabajando en los equipos que deseo.
