El mundo de los deportes siempre ofrece una controversia, momentos oscuros que van a quedar marcados en la historia, porque donde gira mucho dinero, existen personas con malas intensiones, queriendo manchar lo bonito del mundo deportivo y buscando aprovecharse con malas practicas. Aquí tenemos un documental interesante, un arbitro de la mejor liga de baloncesto del mundo(NBA), esta cometiendo un delito muy grave y rápidamente fue descubierto.

Here we have an interesting documentary, a referee of the best basketball league in the world (NBA), is committing a very serious crime and was quickly discovered.
La producción tiene 1 hora y 17 minutos de duración, bastante entretenida, donde seguramente quedaras sorprendido, por la manera en como pueden arreglar partidos, incluso en el máximo nivel de competencia, pues esperamos que aquí no hayan fallos, cuenten con una seguridad especial para evitar estos casos, pero eso esta muy lejos de ser cierto y todo puede suceder en cualquier disciplina deportiva, sin importar que tan importante pueda ser.
The production is 1 hour and 17 minutes long, quite entertaining, where you will surely be surprised by the way they can fix games, even at the highest level of competition, as we hope that here there are no failures, have a special security to prevent these cases, but that is far from certain and anything can happen in any sport, no matter how important it may be.
Sinopsis - synopsis
Tim Donaghy seria el gran protagonista, arbitro que comenzó un buen andar en la NBA, teniendo destacadas actuaciones, pues no le temblaba el pulso para marcar faltas, sin pensar que fuera una estrella o un novato, todo lo que estaba incorrecto, tomaba la decisión de pitarlo y con ello se pudo ganar la confianza de la organización. Por pensamientos que no comprendo, decidió comenzar en el mundo de las apuestas, conseguía información exclusiva y utilizo todo ese poder para ganar dinero de manera ilegal. Podemos ver el testimonio del propio Donaghy, sentado en una silla comentando todo lo ocurrido y dejando saber porque arriesgo de esa forma su carrera.
Tommy Martino era un gran amigo de Donaghy, persona que se encargaba de hablar con Battista, quien seria el sujeto con el capital importante, hombre que daba las ordenes y era el líder de todo este pequeño grupo de tramposos. Tanto Tommy, como Battista, aparecen igualmente en el documental, cada uno cuenta su propia versión, la cual tiene diferentes condimentos y donde queda muy mal parado el arbitro Tim Donaghy. Lo cierto es que les fue muy bien, la información que conseguía Tim era excelente, no fallaban mucho en las apuestas que colocaban y consiguieron ganar mucho "dinero".
Miembros del FBI, también se encargan de opinar en esta producción, cuentan como iniciaron las investigaciones y como fue todo el procedimiento. Hubieron errores, pudo terminar todo mucho mejor, pero la NBA como empresa tiene mucho poder y tuvieron la gran astucia de encaminar todo a la perfección, prácticamente sin dejar mucho rastro, pocos se acuerdan de este momento, a pesar que fue hace poco, 2007 seria el año donde todo exploto y salió a la luz que un arbitro estaba en medio de apuestas y arreglaba partidos de la NBA. ¡Increíble! Pero quien mejor que ellos, para contar como fue todo.

Tommy Martino was a great friend of Donaghy, the person who was in charge of talking to Battista, who would be the guy with the important capital, the man who gave the orders and was the leader of this small group of cheaters. Both Tommy and Battista also appear in the documentary, each one telling his own version, which has different spices and where the referee Tim Donaghy is in a very bad position. The truth is that they did very well, the information Tim got was excellent, they did not fail much in the bets they placed and they managed to win a lot of "money".

En medio de toda la narrativa de Tim Donaghy, nos vamos dando cuenta, sobre algunas reglas no escritas en la NBA, los árbitros permiten ciertos movimientos a las estrellas, dejan que sucedan jugadas que deberían ser penalizadas, pero no se marcan porque es la gran estrella, si fuera un novato seguramente llega el pito y Donaghy comenta un anécdota increíble con un jugador histórico de la liga. La NBA es un espectáculo, pero también un negocio muy lucrativo, cuando los fanáticos van hacia el estadio, quieren ver a sus jugadores favoritos, haciendo jugadas increíbles y por ello deben dejar pasar ciertos movimientos ilegales en la cancha.
Tim Donaghy ha sido el arbitro que cayo, pero hubo una gran investigación, donde se puede observar que existían otros nombres involucrados, los cuales no fueron jamás nombrados y eso resulta un poco extraño. Tim tenia una gran amistad con un arbitro que aun sigue en la liga, pueden verlo en las imágenes que se la pasaban juntos, intercambiaban muchas llamadas y eso por alguna razón no fue investigado a fondo. Hay muchas matices dentro de todo lo ocurrido, pero ante un gran escandalo, la NBA redujo todo a una simple noticia y siguió la marcha como si no fuera pasado nada.
Lo interesante es que Donaghy declara fuertemente contra la organización, pues para nadie es un secreto que los partidos de playoffs, son sumamente lucrativos para la NBA, los estadios se llenan a total capacidad y los tickes suelen ser muy costosos e igualmente todos los productos. ¿Conviene que una serie de 4 juegos termine rápido? De ello habla Donaghy acusando sobre manipulación de partidos, dejando saber que la NBA intenta siempre llevar todo a últimas instancias y que hay muchos árbitros que están implicados en todo esto. Hasta el momento no se a comprobado que eso sea cierto, pero tiene mucho sentido, aquí también nos muestran imágenes de un partido, donde el arbitraje fue sumamente pésimo, nadie dijo nada y la serie se fue hasta el séptimo encuentro. Datos mas que interesantes.

Opinión Final - Final Opinion
Para amantes del deporte, especialmente el baloncesto, sin dudas es un documental muy interesante, incluso si no te gusta mucho el mundo deportivo, puede mantenerte pegado a la pantalla, porque todo lo que hicieron estas 3 personas, realmente es sorprendente, va mas allá de cualquier apuesta, se jugaban millones sobre la mesa y en la elite de la liga de baloncesto. Viendo todo lo que paso, puedes llegar a pensar, que tal vez, todavía existan árbitros cometiendo estos fraudes y arreglando partidos en la NBA.
¿Ganan buen dinero los árbitros? Definitivamente si, Tim Donaghy generaba medio millón de dólares anualmente, lo cual te alcanza para vivir plenamente y por tal razón todavía no comprendo porque inicio en este fraude, porque quiso hundir toda su carrera, ya que si no hubiera hecho todo esto, seguro estuviera todavía pitando los partidos de la NBA y continuando una vida totalmente exitosa dentro del deporte. Anteriormente en mi escritura, cuestione el dinero, pues quienes estaban ganando lo suficiente, no era Tim Donaghy, seria la mafia detrás de Battista, ellos si estaban llenado sus bolsillos con millones y es un poco loco pensar que por tan poco Donaghy se involucro en este juego malicioso.
Es un documental informativo muy bueno, llevan la historia de gran manera, no hay altibajos en ningún momento, siempre te mantiene enganchado y se puede considerar un excelente material de producción. Se puede ver que los 3 socios, no se llevan nada bien en la actualidad, cada uno habla un poco mal del otro, la historia es diferente, pero terminaron con un buen final, la condena que les colocaron, realmente fue muy baja y pudieron estar en libertad durante muy poco tiempo. Ahora para cerrar, ¿Tu arriesgarías tu carrera, teniendo éxito y un gran salario que garantiza tu vida? Seguramente la gran mayoría diría que no, por lo cual sigo pensando que hay algo que no fue contado, porque Tim Donaghy al momento de esta producción, cuenta con muy buen estatus y al parecer el dinero no es un problema en su vida. Te recomiendo mucho este gran documental.
For sports lovers, especially basketball, it is certainly a very interesting documentary, even if you do not like the sports world, it can keep you glued to the screen, because everything these 3 people did is really amazing, it goes beyond any bet, they were playing millions on the table and in the elite of the basketball league. Seeing everything that happened, you can get to think that maybe there are still referees committing these frauds and fixing games in the NBA.
Do referees make good money? Definitely yes, Tim Donaghy generated half a million dollars a year, which is enough to live on and for that reason I still don't understand why he started this fraud, why he wanted to sink his entire career, because if he had not done all this, he would still be refereeing NBA games and continuing a totally successful life in the sport. Earlier in my writing, I questioned the money, because whoever was making enough money, it wasn't Tim Donaghy, it would be the mafia behind Battista, they were lining their pockets with millions and it's a little crazy to think that for so little Donaghy would get involved in this malicious game.
It is a very good informative documentary, they carry the story in a great way, there are no ups and downs at any time, it always keeps you hooked and can be considered an excellent production material. You can see that the 3 partners, don't get along at all well nowadays, each one talks a little bit bad about the other, the story is different, but they ended up with a good ending, the sentence they were placed, really was very low and they could be free for a very short time. Now to close, would you risk your career, having success and a great salary that guarantees your life? Surely the vast majority would say no, which is why I still think there is something that was not told, because Tim Donaghy at the time of this production, has very good status and apparently money is not a problem in his life. I highly recommend this great documentary.

El dinero siempre lo mancha todo, y aquí entra también lo que es el deporte en todas sus categorías. El problema no es si alguien gana más o menos, sino la ambición: la ambición es un camino terrible con terribles consecuencias. No sabía sobre la existencia de este film y mucho menos el escándalo que sacudió a la NBA. Vaya, es sorprendente lo que hizo Tim Donaghy, su línea de corrupción en los partidos... Usando su rol de árbitro. Creo que le echaré un ojo al documental. Realmente está interesante.

Ambición es la palabra, eso fue lo que paso por la mente de Tim Donaghy, pues tenia un gran futuro de vida y lo estropeo todo buscando mas dinero "fácil". Super interesante esta el documental, espero puedas verlo, te lo recomiendo.
