Cuando finalizo la gran serie Vikingos muchos fanáticos quedamos un poco tristes, había concluido una serie que supo atrapar el corazón de tantos espectadores, teniendo una historia muy única y con grandes momentos disfrutables. Para compensar este vacío llego Valhalla, serie sumamente interesante que nos ilustra la vida de hombres famosos del norte, habiendo pasado 100 años desde la mítica historia original de Ragnar Lodbrok, ahora vamos a conocer al gran Leif Erikson, su hermana Freydís y el brillante Harald Sigurdsson quienes son piezas principales de esta gran producción.

Valhalla nos trasporta hacia un momento muy crucial de los Vikingos, porque Inglaterra se ha hecho muy fuerte y cada vez mas los Cristianos toman dominio. Hubo mucha paz en las tierras, los Vikingos estaban conviviendo con los Cristianos, pero todo eso cambia de forma repentina y sin previo aviso desatando una guerra. Aquí vamos a encontrar 8 episodios en su primera temporada, todos muy entretenidos y con gran acción para mantenerte entretenido en un maratón durante todo un día.

Trama de Valhalla - Valhalla Plot
Todo comienza en Inglaterra en medio de una celebración donde el rey Aethelred decide acabar con los Vikingos, llevando a cabo una masacre muy cruel y provocando un enorme traición contra quienes estaban viviendo en su tierra. Cuando los vikingos habían ganado la batalla años atrás, ellos establecieron un acuerdo para que pudieran tener tierras y vivir junto a los cristianos en Europa. Pero para el rey esto ya no podía seguir, por lo que termina acabando con todos y las noticias rápidamente llegaron al norte, lugar donde estaba el rey Canute y convoca a los vikingos para iniciar la venganza.
Al pueblo de Kattegat llega Harald Sigurdsson hombre que pudo escapar de la masacre violenta de Inglaterra, quien propone ante los reyes que Leif Erikson los guie en el mar abierto con un barco hacia la venganza, porque este hombre resulta ser muy bueno en exploración y a parte queda en medio de un problema junto a su hermana, por lo cual no puede decidir por su propia voluntad y termina aceptando el llamado para llevar una tropa hacia Inglaterra. Muchos estaban en busca de la venganza por haber asesinado a los vikingos, mientras que otros van en busca de tener mas poder y ser dueños de Inglaterra.
Aethelred fallece antes que lleguen los vikingos dejando lugar a su hijo, el joven Prince Edmund que no tiene mucho conocimiento de batalla y tampoco cuenta con grandes habilidades para dirigir un batallón. Pero ya saben que los vikingos vendrán en busca de venganza, así que comienzan a prepararse porque si o si vendrá una guerra y cuentan con la gran suerte de tener a Emma, la princesa de mercia que esta junto a al Prince Edmund y entabla un gran plan de estrategia para combatir el ataque de los vikingos. Para este momento, sabemos que se viene una gran batalla entre vikingos contra cristianos, lo que posteriormente da juego a muchas posibilidades e historias que se forman a través del ganador.
It all begins in England in the middle of a celebration where King Aethelred decides to wipe out the Vikings, carrying out a very cruel massacre and provoking a huge betrayal against those who were living in his land. When the Vikings had won the battle years before, they established an agreement so that they could have land and live together with the Christians in Europe. But for the king this could no longer continue, so he ends up killing everyone and the news quickly reached the north, where King Canute was and summons the Vikings to start the revenge.
Harald Sigurdsson, a man who could escape from the violent massacre in England, arrives to the town of Kattegat and proposes to the kings that Leif Erikson guide them in the open sea with a ship towards the revenge, because this man is very good at exploration and also he is in the middle of a problem with his sister, so he cannot decide on his own will and ends up accepting the call to take a troop to England. Many were in search of revenge for having killed the Vikings, while others are looking for more power and to be masters of England.
Aethelred dies before the Vikings arrive, leaving room for his son, the young Prince Edmund, who does not have much knowledge of battle and does not have great skills to lead a battalion. But they already know that the Vikings will come looking for revenge, so they begin to prepare themselves because a war is coming and they have the great luck of having Emma, the princess of Mercia who is next to Prince Edmund and who sets up a great strategy plan to fight the Viking attack. By this time, we know that a great battle is coming between Vikings and Christians, which subsequently gives rise to many possibilities and stories that are formed through the winner.

Sinopsis de Valhalla - Synopsis of Valhalla
Nos encontramos con una gran lucha entre religiones, los cristianos ya no quieren aceptar a los vikingos que empiezan a creer en cristo y los vikingos no soportan a los cristianos. Vamos a tener el deseo de poder que tiene el rey Canute, luego tenemos la sed de venganza de Harald Sigurdsson, seguido de su hermano(Olaf Haraldson) quien resulta ser un gran mentiroso con mucha codicia, hombre que actualmente es rey de Noruega y que busca reinar en todo el norte. Son tres hombres interesantes que van en busca de intereses distintos hacia Inglaterra, pero que juntos tienen que luchar para acabar con los cristianos y poder comenzar sus planes una vez terminen con el rey Edmund.
Leif Erikson el gran explorador quiere forjar un nombre importante, porque el suyo siempre estuvo atado al de su padre que fue un hombre poderoso y no tiene un gran pasado. El logra crear un plan muy ambicioso para traspasar la guardia que protege a Inglaterra, estrategia que ejecutan para atacar a los cristianos, siendo de mucho riesgo porque si resulta bien, podrán ganar la guerra, pero si no es llevado a la perfección seria su muerte y no conseguiría el gran logro que esta buscando, que será tener un nombre importante en la historia de los vikingos y olvidar a su padre.
Prince Edmund junto a la princesa Emma tienen planes de gobernar toda Europa, proteger su tierra y terminar por completo con la religión vikinga que los a venido atacando durante muchos años. Cuentan con la ayuda del buen hombre Godwin, quien tiene mucha inteligencia para persuadir a las personas y cuenta con inteligencia para enfrentar batallas.
Después que concluye la guerra tenemos la gran historia de Freydís, hermana de Leif Erikson quien logra hablar con el vidente y le comentan que ella es la "ultima", frase que lleva un misterio muy profundo sobre su futuro y mas cuando ella se vuelve escudera en el pueblo de Kattegat. Precisamente Freydis tiene que proteger a al pueblo del norte, cuando Jarl Kare un hombre vikingo con religión cristiana los ataca y esta en busca de acabar con todos los que no creen en dios. Esto nos permite visualizar el gran conflicto que se encuentra entre religiones y por supuesto sin dejar a un lado la lucha por el poder que siempre estará presente.

Identidad propia - Self-identity
Aunque Valhalla es una secuela de Vikingos, jamás sentí que estuviera viendo la producción original, aquí en Valhalla podemos tener una historia con identidad propia bien llevada, los personajes principales como Harald Sigurdsson, Leif Erikson y Freydis son espectaculares, cada uno puede resultar tu favorito en toda la serie, tienen momentos de enorme relevancia y son presentes durante todos los episodios. Personalmente me encanto mucho el papel de Harald Sigurdsson, trata de llevar una buena racionalidad del pensamiento critico, porque el es un vikingo con ideales cristianos, pero en ningún momento se deja influenciar por la religión y apoyo lo que verdaderamente esta correcto.
Los villanos desarrollan un buen papel entre el bien y el mal, por ejemplo el caso del rey Canute que comienza a llevar un plan basado en sus intereses propios, igualmente el desarrollo que lleva la serie a Jarl Kare le da un gran atractivo, primeramente pensamos que es un asesino que no tiene mucha importancia, pero resulta que cuenta con un gran ejercito y mucha presencia para derrotar a Kattegat si todo le sale bien. También tengo que mencionar que las batallas están excelentes, cuentan con una gran producción y todas para mi están entretenidas.
Esta serie te va hacer conexión rápidamente, porque desde el principio nos encontramos con la traición y la lucha por el poder territorial. Vamos a tener mucha curiosidad con el personaje de Emma, mujer muy brillante con gran caracter que seguramente va tener mayor protagonismo en la segunda temporada, pero aquí podemos ver una reina con el potencial de ser gran dominante y llevar todo un ejercito con gran dominio.
Although Valhalla is a sequel to Vikings, I never felt like I was watching the original production, here in Valhalla we can have a story with its own identity, the main characters like Harald Sigurdsson, Leif Erikson and Freydis are spectacular, each one can be your favorite in the whole series, they have moments of enormous relevance and are present during all the episodes. I personally loved the role of Harald Sigurdsson, he tries to bring a good rationality of critical thinking, because he is a Viking with Christian ideals, but at no time is influenced by religion and support what is truly right.
The villains develop a good role between good and evil, for example the case of King Canute who begins to carry a plan based on their own interests, also the development that takes the series to Jarl Kare gives a great attraction, first we think he is an assassin who does not have much importance, but it turns out that he has a large army and a lot of presence to defeat Kattegat if everything goes well. I also have to mention that the battles are excellent, they have a great production and all of them are entertaining for me.
This series will make you connect quickly, because from the beginning we find the betrayal and the struggle for territorial power. We will be very curious about the character of Emma, a very bright woman with great character that will surely have more prominence in the second season, but here we can see a queen with the potential to be very dominant and lead an army with great dominance.

Opinión Final - Final Opinion
Si te gusta mucho las historias de guerra, lo antiguo y un poco de acción, Valhalla será una serie en la que podrás disfrutar mucho, cuenta con todo lo esencial para entretenerte en cada episodio, con un gran drama que te mantiene enfocado en lo que va suceder y con momentos inesperados que generan mucha emoción. Los gráficos en las batallas lucen espectaculares, todo va acorde a la historia principal y siguen muy bien la narrativa del comienzo, pienso que no encontramos ningún relleno y terminas con ganas de querer seguir viendo mucho mas.
La historia de los protagonistas principales están muy buenas, fácilmente quedas enamorado de estos personajes y deseas seguir indagando mucho mas de ellos, luego tenemos algunos otros personajes como Olaf Haraldson que dejan un final muy intrigante, nos encontramos con un hombre inteligente con cualidades que no esperábamos y deseamos ver que mas sigue. Si lograste ver la serie de Vikingos, aquí te va gustar mucho cuando aparece el vidente, sabemos que el representa gran valor en la vida de las personas y también podemos ver el pueblo de Kattegat muy parecido a como aparece en Vikingos, lo cual personalmente me encanto y es un detalle que le agrega un gran atractivo a esta brillante serie que tienen que ver.
If you like war stories, the ancient and a bit of action, Valhalla will be a series that you can enjoy a lot, it has all the essentials to entertain you in each episode, with a great drama that keeps you focused on what will happen and with unexpected moments that generate a lot of emotion. The graphics in the battles look spectacular, everything goes according to the main story and follow very well the narrative of the beginning, I think we did not find any filler and you end up wanting to see much more.
The story of the main protagonists are very good, you easily fall in love with these characters and want to keep digging much more of them, then we have some other characters like Olaf Haraldson that leave a very intriguing ending, we find an intelligent man with qualities that we did not expect and we want to see what else follows. If you managed to see the series of Vikings, here you will like a lot when the seer appears, we know that he represents great value in the lives of people and we can also see the town of Kattegat very similar to how it appears in Vikings, which I personally loved and is a detail that adds a great attraction to this brilliant series that you have to see.

Puedes creer que a pesar de que fui un gran fan de Juego de Tronos y que el final de esa serie me dejo un vacío aún no me he puesto a ver Vikings? Desde hace años he leído maravillas de esta serie pero por una razón u otra nunca termino por darle un vistazo. Es necesario ver la serie original para poder disfrutar de este spin off?
Yo también quedé muy mal con el final de juego de tronos, estaba en mi top 1 y después de eso tuve que cambiar jeje. Vikingos si es una maravilla, además cuenta con un final increíble, aquí más bien te dan ganas de seguir viendo más y te la recomiendo mucho.
Y no no es necesario Bro, está es una historia que no tiene nada que ver con vikingos, por eso me gustó mucho también y es súper entretenida. Comencé a verla ayer y hoy en la mañana me la termine, imagínate lo mucho que me gustó.
En ese caso le voy a dar bastante prioridad hehe. Tengo unas cuantas series pendientes por ver todavía 😅

Nothing beats a good old viking story but this one seems a lot more interesting. The plot surely is something I'll love to watch play out, the battle for supremacy between the Christians and vikings.
If it's as good as you say it is I'm surely going to download it and make my own review sometime. I love intrigue, with a mix of violence and war, makes my heart beat faster, haha.
