Los hombres que se encuentran dentro del top 10, resultan lo mejor de la división, por lo general parten como favoritos ante otro peleador que este fuera de este rango, pero existen excepciones cuando prospectos vienen con mucha fuerza o peleadores que elevan su nivel de una manera inesperada, caso similar al de Geoff Neal, luchador que cuenta con gran striking y estaba en puesto número 13 de la categoría welter. Vicente Luque seria su adversario que estaba en el puesto 7, peleador muy bueno y con gran experiencia dentro de la compañía, viendo la clasificación Luque seria el "favorito", aunque la verdad seria otra.

Vicente Luque siendo un hombre que viene de Brasil, conoce a la perfección el jiu jitsu, tenia que buscar la pelea en el suelo, jamás debió exponerse al striking de Neal, para el primer asalto le dejo saber que estaba mas rápido y que era mucho mejor que el.
Fue todo un error que lo llevaría fácilmente hacia la derrota, Geoff Neal tuvo una precisión impresionante con sus golpes, prácticamente no estaba fallando y se podía asumir que pronto venia un KO. Fue un 93% de golpes que impactaron en la cabeza de Luque, Geoff Neal lo estaba castigando fuertemente, tanto que lo llevo al suelo en dos ocasiones en tan solo el 1er round, técnicamente muy superior y con mayor poder de pegada. Dominio mas que abismal cuando observo las estadísticas del combate, no hubo un solo departamento donde haya perdido Geoff Neal, sinceramente gran demostración de striking.
Después de haber recibido tantos golpes al comienzo del combate, esperaba que Vicente Luque saliera con otro plan, buscar llevarlo al suelo, pero no tenia movilidad alguna, pelear a distancia seria una gran opción, pero Geoff Neal también dominaba en ese aspecto, no había alternativa alguna para el brasileño, aunque sorprendentemente su mejor versión se vio en el segundo round, aquí pensé que podría tener chances, comenzó a pegar mas patadas, pero el poder de Geoff Neal detuvo rápido el ímpetu y lo llevo a controlar nuevamente la situación del combate.

Muy pocos golpes estaba intentando Vicente Luque, mientras que Geoff Neal no se cansaba de conectar por todos lados, tiene un striking muy hermoso, con mucha técnica y una izquierda con gran potencia. Vicente en el segundo round que mejoro, fue porque estuvo lanzando patadas y un poco mas de golpes hacia Geoff Neal, aumentar el volumen cambio todo, lamentablemente fue momentáneo, porque la preparación de Geoff Neal estaba mejor y teniendo el cuerpo fresco se arriesgaba mucho mas. Quien termino mejor ese asalto seria Geoff Neal, nuevamente dejaba un mensaje a los jueces que era el dominante de las acciones.
Para el tercer asalto volvieron los intercambios, esta vez con menos inteligencia por parte de Luque, se notaba desesperado porque estaba perdiendo la batalla, claramente la única forma de ganar seria consiguiendo un KO y termino pasando pero en su contra. Geoff Neal pudo meter presión en la reja y ejecuto una combinación de ganchos muy explosiva, cada uno estaba siendo impactado en la quijada de Vicente Luque y este hombre se vino abajo. Seria todo en una noche espectacular para Geoff Neal, ganar por TKO frente a Vicente Luque es un gran logro y un merito enorme que lo ingresa en el top 10.
Desde un principio el volumen del combate lo tuvo Geoff Neal, no se cual seria la estrategia de Vicente Luque, pero intentar ganar con boxeo fue una equivocación, no contaba con la pegada necesaria para lastimar y nunca mostro combinaciones para conseguir puntos. Su mejor pasaje del combate duro muy poco, utilizar sus piernas había sido gran decisión, pero su cuerpo no tenia la misma energía, mucho castigo le disminuye el cardio y no pudo sostener las patadas. Golpes totales como significativos, en mayor proporción por parte de Geoff Neal quien no tuvo problemas en todo el combate, nunca sufrió un momento de tensión, llevo el control perfectamente y dejo lucir su victoria de una manera fácil.

Me contenta mucho ver nombres nuevos entrando al top 10, por mucho tiempo la categoría welter había estado estancada, siempre los mismos peleadores se mantenían, ahora vemos que hay promesas como Khamzat Chimaev, talentosos como Sean Brady y seguido de Geoff Neal que será un hombre duro de vencer. ¿Tendrá lo necesario para mantenerse? Bueno se vienen desafíos muy grandes, no puede perder porque podría salir nuevamente del top, lo mejor será ganar y seguir subiendo. Se habla de Gilbert Burns como próximo contrincante, nada fácil para Geoff Neal y el reto mas importante de su carrera.
La única persona que pudo colocar en problemas, al talento mas importante de la compañía (Khamzat Chimaev), fue precisamente Gilbert Burns, incluso muchos piensan que le gano ese combate y por esa sencilla razón me parece que Geoff Neal todavía no esta preparado para vencerlo. Su striking lo veo mucho mejor que el de Gilbert, por lejos con mucha mayor técnica y tiene mas pegada también. El problema seria en el suelo, el grappling de Gilbert Burns es de talla mundial, tan solo con derribos puede dominarlo y ganar el combate por esa vía.
Gilbert Burns quiere enfrentar a Jorge Masvidal, pero si el cubano no esta dispuesto, menciono que acepta batallar contra Geoff Neal que lo pidió cuando termino su pelea frente a Luque, para mi no fue muy inteligente, pues un Stephen Thompson seria mejor posibilidad, aunque me encanta su confianza y si llega a vencer a Burns su carrera se va hacia lo mas alto posible. Seria una lucha muy entretenida, Geoff Neal es un hombre que le gusta intercambiar golpes, sabe que cuenta con gran striking y no le tiene miedo a ser golpeado, Gilbert Burns tampoco huye al intercambio, es un luchador muy guerrero y con gran fortaleza.
De ser anunciada como oficial, vamos a tener una batalla de lujo y seguro será este mismo año en una cartelera de UFC enumerada. Brandon Moreno quiere pelear en Diciembre, colocar a Geoff Neal en esa misma noche contra Gilbert Burns, no estaría nada mal y mucho menos para Neal que anda buscando que mas personas conozcan su nombre. Pronto conoceremos lo que viene para su futuro, lo cierto es que es un problema serio en la categoria, merece mucho respeto y deben tener cuidado al momento de enfrentarlo. Vicente Luque ya conoció el poder que tiene Geoff Neal, sencillamente lo mando a dormir y gano bajo una gran performance.

Neal, tenía tiempo sin pelear, pero desde que lo ví hace tiempo pude notar que tenía mucho potencial. Lamentablemente no pude ver esta pelea pero luego de leer tu análisis se confirma lo previsto, Neal tiene mucho poder y Luque ya está camino abajo, ha menguado mucho en su nivel, así que no creo que siga subiendo en el ranking.
Tiene un enorme potencial, su boxeo es realmente muy bueno, espero que pueda mantenerse en el top 10.
Con Luque pienso lo mismo, para mí va seguir bajando, tristemente porque aún está joven, 30 años y en su momento fue gran promesa, pero no lo veo ganando a los duros de esta categoría.
