RE: Do you remember those days when everyone was complaining that curation isn't even a thing anymore?

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

We let the milkers and the shitposters run off our content creators.

It is going to take some time to turn that around.

I agree, just posting something doesn't work.

Find a person crying about large stakeholders 9 out of 10 I've looked at are posting pure shit like links or bad english and stolen photos.

We can clean up now, while it is slow.

Every single day I have the same frustration...I really do want to follow new accounts, help them...the very same way people helped me when I first came here, but seeing this...

And I wonder, can't they understand that this tactic isn't working? Some of them are level 50+ which means they have spent some time around...

Well it is a conditioned response. When we were not curating people found easy ways to collect rewards. Those who were trying got frustrated and left.

Now we will have to keep up the curation efforts long enough to turn that around.

I keep on doing what I always did and never forget that we suppose to be a social media platform and community. Sometimes we are in the mood to socialize, sometimes we chat, comment, just vote, autovote or curate manually.
Just keep going and enjoy “good enough” posts or shake your heads for the shitposters.
This place doesn’t show me anything different than real life. I therefore prefer to focus what keeps us alive : engagement in one or the other way. I need to get used to take advantage of my downvote power, even though I never felt comfortable using it. Clean up time is needed indeed @whatsap

Speaking my mind actually @mammasitta.

Who said that you can't have fun and at the same time be creative somehow? But really now? A blur photo with five mango?

I need to get used to take advantage of my downvote power, even though I never felt comfortable using it

Same goes with me...I don't feel comfortable using my downvote power. Done it on some over bid botted posts but other than that not much. And not because I am afraid of retaliation or anything of the sort...it's just me. I guess I need to forge myself a bit

I've been downvoting since the beginning, I've had a few retaliations, not many.

Hahah! Oh well! Those blurry mangos might feel like “art” for them :)

I feel confused many times when I see those photos of those so called trendy women/ girls on Instagram with horrific long fake fingernails and plastic fantastic appearance. Some like it, some don’t.
Who has the better taste ? Me or them ?

You know what I mean? It’s all a question of taste.

But anyways : Let’s downvote more 👻 😁🤪

Just good enough and decent are words I've been using lately.

At some point I hope we can peel some energy away from our own internal fights and focus on the outside world.

What do you mean with “outside world”?

Let’s focus on the law of attraction and believe that the bad content will just vanish and the awesome ( just good enough and decent is simply not enough anymore) creative people will stay , quality jumps in our faces that we can continue building a powerful community.
I have to admit that using appics changed my content drastically because the focus lays on the image illusion first of all. I try to find a balance though and still write more “decent” and appropriate articles......once in a while 😝

BTW nice to Still see you being active 🙌😁😘

I mean a little more focused attraction than that.

I think we are ready to see a bit more action in the altcoin world and many feel Steem is a failed project. I would like to see less energy spent fighting about the best use of steem and more energy put into the promotion and attraction of new users. :)
