I saw this week's contest and was like, no way...that is a bit late...been there done that, and not gonna rewrite my post on the best soundtrack ever:

MidNight Gems - Undiscovered, Underrated & Forgotten Songs vol.72 "Best Soundtrack In The World"

But sometimes "you need to look beyond the length of your nose," as the Dutch would say. Meaning there is always more than that what is right in front of you.

Not another tearjerker

Now I could go All American on you and turn this story into yet another commercially attractive tearjerker telling that this song remembers me so much of my brother that passed away last year. That due to Covid I was not able to even visit him and more of those cliches that would turn you My Dear Reader into a teary-eyed audience.

But as you know that is not my style and as Monty Python would say that is also not the meaning of life.

For millions this life is a sad vale of tears
Sitting round with rien - nothing to say
While scientists say we're just simply spiraling coils
Of self-replicating DNA

And as soon as you figured out the meaning of life they have another song to help you on your merry way:

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly, chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing
And...

So the meaning of life is to always look at the bright side of life. So that's what we did, and during those last calls, we could still laugh about that shrubbery.

The Knights Who say Nee!

Now I hope I got you all looking in one direction and expecting a Monty Python song the be the score that brings back so many memories.

Fooled You

The song I ended up thinking about was from a totally different movie, a movie we´ve seen during Veronica´s May Month Movie Month in 1986. I can not remember where my parents were at the time, but they were not at home, that much is certain.

Why is that certain you may ask? Or you may not ask.

Well because I remember vividly how we were dancing and jumping up and down the sofas in the living room. Kicking and screaming the title of this movie.

The movie had us totally hyped up and that song just made you get off the sofa and start jumping on it. I was about eleven and he was almost ten, two brothers that just watched one of the coolest dance movies from the eighties.

Just listen to that intro, that was more than enough to get us jumping!

Kenny Loggins - Footloose

Thinking about that makes me smile every freckle time. Now I ain't going out as much as I used to, but I am still dancing to this tune with a smile on my face as it´s available on Just Dance for the PS4. And for some weird reason, this is probably my fav song on there.

Thanks, CineTV for this contest that brought back these memories!

Any Last words?

“Life's a piece of shit, when you look at it, life's a laugh, and death's a joke, it's true, but you can always get Footloose."
