Thread -Do you have some loose wires? I am glad I do!

Life and our perception of it is woven using a Plain weave. Each weft thread passes alternately above, then below each warp thread.

Consider your life the weft thread, that is passing under and over those warp threads. Each thread is a storyline in our lives that crosses with so many storylines from other people's lives that it starts to form a structure. A structure we consider the reality.

Our perception of reality is nothing more than many fine threads put closely together. And if you break one, nothing happens...but if you break some that whole reality starts to unravel.

Those single threads will get lost in a pile of threads and we lose our grip on reality, which can be really refreshing as reality is made up by our minds weaving those threads together.

Once all the threads are pilling up they are entangling again, but no longer in a straight and organized fashion. They are cluttering together, knotting to one another.

We consider those knots messy, irregular, and unstructured but this state is actually more natural for a thread than being woven together in an orderly fashion.

Loose Wire

Our lives and minds are being woven into an orderly structure as it makes us predictable and therefore controllable. Because you can´t be predicted if your mind is unraveled or knotted up.

The Dutch have an actual saying that goes:
Er zit bij hem been draadje los - He´s got a loose thread

He has a loose wire probably comes closest to that expression.

Bottom Line

What I basically am trying to say is that our mindset is not our natural state. It´s been carefully nurtured into a tightly woven piece of cloth we consider reality.

Now of course if your reality is one big knot, you´re hanging on by a thread, and you are all but two fries short of a happy meal you probably will have a hard time surviving in general.

But if your reality is a tightly woven piece of fabric with no raveling and no room between the threads, be careful. A reality like that is probably further away from your natural self than the person whose sanity is hanging on by a thread.

The world around us consists of streams of energy that we are weaving into a picture that our mind can comprehend. By unweaving that picture we train our minds to comprehend the bigger picture.

Or did I just forget to take my Meds?

Haha, very similar to Afrikaans, "Hy/Sy het n draatjie los."

Or did I just forget to take my Meds?

Lol, ouch! You know when you hit that send button, and immediately realize what you just did. It was like that 😅

Right, so my newfound goal is to NOT MAKE A MISTAKE FOR A WEEK, then two, three, and so on 😁

I really enjoyed reading this one, especially for the skill with which you wove the metaphor. These two parts jumped out at me:

"Each thread is a storyline in our lives that crosses with so many storylines from other people's lives that it starts to form a structure. A structure we consider the reality." YES!

"Our lives and minds are being woven into an orderly structure as it makes us predictable and therefore controllable." Yes, especially when we become attached to preserving that "orderly structure".

Loved that Placebo video too.
