TTT [Week 52] - Tune Tune Train "I, I will begin again"

Tune Tune TrainTop.jpg

Like Every Week:

The Tune Tune Train connects songs, which can be done in many ways. For example three songs from the same movie, then the connection is the soundtrack. Or three songs from people that used to form a band, the connection would be that band. But it can even be three songs about Qatar. Which would make the connection to the soccer world cup.

It´s up to you Dear Reader to figure out what connects the train.
Or wait till I solve the riddle in next week's post.

And then there were these songs:

Ella Fitzgerald - Misty
Hurts - Redemption (Official Video)
U2 Perform Rare, Intimate Version on "Every Breaking Wave"

Last Weeks Clues Were

Same artists, different season-related songs.

And in my written radio show I spoke these Iconic words, and I quoted them again in a comment:
The world is quiet......

Screenshot 2022-12-27 104957.jpg

I mean if you see U2 and read the world is quiet.....On New Year's Day should pop into your brain right?

We Have No Winners

As we have no winners, let's keep playing. I want to give away those Ecency points so we have two good answers this week the first one for each good answer will get that 300 points boost.

Posting this a little later so everyone has a chance to get the connection and get a Double Ecency Boost on his/hers latest post.

Here we go again!

All Aboard!

The Tune Tune Train is Taking Off!
Are You Ready To Riddle?

SO, here are this week's clues.

As the riddle is so easy, I am not talking too much and will let the music speak for itself.

Ella Fitzgerald - Ella Fitzgerald Sings "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"

Sometimes I wonder if music truly improved over the years or if the best songs are already written.

Hurts - All I Want for Christmas Is New Year's Day

Everybody waits for Christmas, for me it´s New Year´s day.....

I could not agree more! And that is why this next song is one of my All Time Favorites....first song I play every year on New Year's Day for the last 20 years or more.

U2 - New Year's Day

music small.svg

The connection hint: 2.0.2.3.

EDIT: The Easy Answer (New Year´s) has already been provided by @mypathtofire, but there is a 2nd almost as easy connection still to be made!

Let me know in the comments if you figure out what connects these three songs.
First to get it right, gets a nice Ecency Boost!

The connection and winner will be featured in next week's #TTT

You have some very iconic artists there! Great stuff! I am kind of looking forward to next weekend. I don't plan on going out or anything. It will be nice just sitting at home for four days and not really needing to do anything!

Thanks, I so prefer New Year to X-Mas and I will have a whole week of sitting at home to look forward to. But I got a lot of things to do next to playing some PS 4 games 😂

Sounds like a great plan! I have a lot of Netflix stuff to watch while my wife is napping during the day. I started the new Witcher series the other day. I have to get that Lord of the Rings show watched too.

In the first song, our dear often slighted Ella expresses a sort of loneliness. The season has her wondering, will her crush notice her? Probably not, she laments with grace. Her lack of love might feel like a loss of sorts, when everyone around her is kissing at midnight. Or maybe the new year will bring hope?

In the second, we experience Christmas after loss directly. Both in the video, and in the lyrics, we can feel a deep emptiness behind the bells and bright colors. When you lose someone, getting through the holidays is a chore. It hurts. You push past it the best that you can, because all you want is the possibility for something else to take over.

In U2's famous song of few words, bono wakes up on new years day. The pain is still there, nothing is different, but there is a small gift. He knows he will be reunited with the pieces of himself/ his love/ positivity/ whatever, once again. He is determined.

I'm going to say: Loss and hope.

Nice songs :) !PIZZA

The obvious is new year's day. But then the burning desire for the gift of a new year is common in these three songs. All three don't want Christmas. I may be totally goofing. Hehe.

Happy New years @whywhy and let that train keep on trucking!! A great trio of tunes this week, with an obvious theme of New Years Day, but a less obvious one about pining over a loved one that each singer wants to see again on New Years day - a kind of unrequited love.
