In the last few weeks, I have also used ecency because of the slow loading of proofofbrain.io in my browser.
I also faced this challenge too. I guess this was one of the reasons why people lost interest in the pob community because it was a general problem.
I also agree with you on the white paper suggestion for more certainty.
