RE: Two Years of Community Building: Happy 2nd Forkday, Hive!

I just have a feeling that it's unlikely we'll suddenly see the Hive token go 10x, but we might well see something built on Hive go 10x, or even 100x. Particularly... if we end up being home to 20, 30 or more dApps with similar success to Splinterlands, and 20 more communities like LeoFinance... gradually, I think the Hive base token will be pulled along by the success of of our dApps, but we have to be patient.

We need good software and video game developers, including graphics designers. Real video games on the Hive blockchain could be huge successes. Just imagine MOBA, racing, strategy, shooter and other kinds of video games.

Now I imagined something like Steam built on blockchain technology. CS:GO and other skins as NFTs.

And the transactions on the Hive blockchain are free and fast. The gaming industry combined with the blockchain technology has so much potential. Hopefully the developers will also discover/realize and utilize this.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Hive offers a lot of potential for independent game developers... perhaps not so much for the "big company" developers because we are fast and cheap... so "where's the profit?"

But, for sure, there are lots of independents with excellent ideas, and they could totally build their base here and do very very well.

I (and many other people) bought the Steem Monsters (nowadays Splinterlands) beta starter set on 2018.12.30 for $10 USD worth of cryptocurrency. Steem or Steem Dollars (SBD). Currently I do not remember. But the spellbook is still sold for $10 USD. And there are entry fees for certain tournaments. And there is a withdrawal fee of 0.75% (1% on certain tokens) on the Hive Engine.

Just imagine 10 000 people buying something virtual for $10 USD. That is a clear $100 000 USD profit for the game developers. And actually a lot more people bought it, and still buying it.

Another example: Hive Punks. Currently they have a 5% market fee.

So the Hive blockchain have potential for the "big companies" too. Seeing the examples above, it is obvious that it is possible to sell a game (and theoretically everything) on the Hive blockchain.
