Tu voz || Your voice

One of the most outstanding and emblematic voices in tropical music, in Latin music, is Celia Cruz, the Cuban singer who from a very early age managed to impact the whole world from the lineup of the Sonora Matancera. A truly powerful voice with an unmatched rhythm, she had the merit of remaining at the top of the popularity charts until the end of her days, which occurred in 2003, at the age of 78.

Celia Cruz was a promoter of Cuban music and the whole movement known as salsa.

One of her greatest hits, from her time with the Sonora Matancera, was this bolero-mambo, composed by Ramón Cabrera in 1952 and recorded that same year. This recording soon became one of the classics of popular dance music.

Contrary to most hits around the world, this song has been covered only very rarely and even less, performed by men, despite the fact that its theme has no gender connotations. But it is a song that I really enjoy singing and with which today I want to pay tribute to this extraordinary diva.

As has become my custom lately, I also do it today with the accompaniment of the Venezuelan cuatro, because every day I enjoy accompanying these musical genres with this, my stringed friend.
