I wonder, at some point could Etherium see the scalability of Hive and want to join forces?

Two separate technologies. There will be layer 2 solutions that bridge between the two, we are already seeing it with token movement.
But they are not going to join. In fact, Ethereum is big enough that it can do its think without anyone else.
Hive is joining with the likes of Telos and Peerplays.
