Imagine getting rewarded for your education...
A few days ago, I and a classmate of mine got into a conversation about online degrees and I told her about a course I intend on taking when I'm done with French classes.
She told me she had been taking some classes online herself and had been having a hard time getting through them due to work and of course our French language course.
One conversation leads to another and she told me about a certain Micheal Saylor program. I felt a bit sceptical about it, I still feel sort of sceptical about taking a course with them but what caught my attention was when she talked about how the certificates gotten from the programs are saved on a blockchain.
This got me thinking far and wondering how cool a world completely transitioning into using Blockchain tech for educational purposes could be.
Degrees in Blockchain Technology
I don't know how long Blockchain Tech related Degrees have been available but I began paying attention to them 2 years ago and right now I see them everywhere.
Every online educational platform has them. The Michael Saylor Online Institute even offers them for free.
Blockchain and Educational Degrees
Doing a little research, I found that it's becoming a common thing for Institutions to have their degrees backed on a blockchain.
Institutions like MIT have their degrees stored in a blockchain for safety and there are have been other developments in countries like Ethiopia where their poor educational system has given them the insight to create a partnership with Blockchain technology company, Cardano, to help safeguard legitimate degrees of their citizens that can easily be accessed when they apply to International Institutions.
Other Resources
My knowledge of the capabilities of Blockchain keeps increasing every day through little research every now and then. While my knowledge might not be developed to its fullest, I think I've grasped a lot of information along the way.
Utilizing the Blockchain as a means of student-teacher accountability in education can be a major benefit both parties can enjoy. Imagine a situation where students are rewarded for their progress in courses. And teachers are rewarded according to the progress their students make.
I utilize Duolingo for extra French practise when I find myself having a hard time with schoolwork. Imagine a situation where I get rewarded in actual money for every stage I pass in my learning process.
Who knows, we could have such a platform built here on Hive. It could be in the form of a gaming resource like Splinterlands but for educational purposes. I'm big on school work. Both my parents are teachers.
Although I don't know the technicalities that might be involved in this process, I only imagine the benefits.
There's so much yet to be harnessed and while we're in the beginning, there's so much profit already. Imagine what things would look like when it all goes mainstream.

"Get paid to _________" is the mantra of the future.
So why not get paid for education?
By the way, that already happens on Leofinance each day. People are rewarded for participating in the learning about cryptocurrency and financial matters.

No doubt. Leofinance is an awesome learning ground. But I'm thinking more in the line of an online course or a play and learn platform like Duolingo.

Blockchain and educational degrees..wow this is really cool ...
Thank you for sharing
As long as the data needs a storage space to live on, block chains are the best suitable space for them especially if they’ll need to be verifiable and immutable. This is where we should be seeing the minister of ICT in Nigeria at work, let all academic work and certificates be on blockchain, but no, they are focused on open grazing.

Oh, there's a minister of ICT it this cave?
