Necessary and Unnecessary developments

It seems impossible to understand the working of the mind of a Nigerian Politician. A lot of things happen here and they go without explanation or confrontation from anyone. Things are as absurd as spending millions in the commissioning of an obviously poorly constructed road or bridge.

These are stories we've told many times and no matter how we structure the words or try to make them sound a little less dumb than they are, they always end up still being as foolish as the uncut version.

Development is important in every society. However, I personally believe it's meant to come incrementally, according to a pattern and with proper structure. I don't walk around with a stick up my ass, but I do love orderliness. You might call me a semi-perfectionist.

Development is good. But it needs to be guided and within the framework of what is needed at every point in time. For instance, earning Calculus is great. But you can't be caught teaching it to kids in pre-school or what we call nursery. That's exactly the sort of development strategy Nigerian thrives on.

There's no doubt about the technological prowess of millions of Nigerians within and outside the country. Many have paid their dues and done their due diligence to be useful in amazing places. Almost every tech giant in the world has a Nigerian.

However, this development of the youth has in no way affected the mental backwardness of the leaders. Hence, the introduction of a CBDC in a country that does not need it.

An Unnecessary Development

The E-naira CBDC has been the talk of a lot of people over the last couple of days since its launch on the 27th of this month. It didn't come as a shock as we had been expecting it since the 1st of October but was said to have been delayed due to the celebration of the nation's Independence Day.

That's total bullshit talk though.

The e-naira application was created by a Caribbean company named Bitt. Now, the question is, with the kind of brains this country has; "why on earth would these bastards give the project to a foreign company?".

That goes alone to tell you how much value the government has for its developing youth in the tech industry over here. Honestly, I personally know some amazing programmers who could have done a badass job and the government wouldn't have spent those many millions on a foreign contract.

The e-naira is currently the most unnecessary development the Nigerian Government could be celebrating at a time like this when some parts of the country are at war. Their priorities are so twisted it makes your heartache so bad.

Recently, it was gathered that the application has been banned on Playstore due to the many bad reviews. The only way Nigerians have their voice is through their mobile phones. We all know what happened when we raised our voices in public last year.

Is the e-naira worth your time? Would you, out of curiosity, purchase some of it just to have a little experience of it? I initially thought I would but now, I don't think so anymore.

100% True.

The height of it all is that they never get tired of being genuinely foolish.

Not surprised why they feel uncomfortable with crypto and twitter.
