Top 3 Timeless cartoons worth seeing

This list is not based on any particular thing but a personal opinion. I've seen a lot of cartoons, some had a lot more timeless appeal than others.

Let's get down to it, shall we...

My top 3 Timeless Cartoons

  • The first Cartoon on my list is Shrek.

Shrek 1 was released on the 22 of April 2001. And I bet a lot of people had no idea it was that old. I sure as hell had no idea.

I believe I saw Shrek first when I was 4 or 5 years old, then it was already a year or 2 years old.

I saw Shrek yesterday with my nephews and they loved it. It's nothing like the movies you'd see from 2001. Those would look old with camera qualities and plots. With this cartoon, it was like seeing something new.

I definitely can't start telling the story of Shrek. But I'll let you know the cast:

  • Mike Myers: He voiced Shrek.
  • Eddie Murphy: He voiced Donkey.
  • Cameron Diaz: She voiced Princess Fiona.

These were the key roles played. There were other appearances from the gingerbread man, Pinocchio, the 3 blind nice, etc.

Another thing I loved the list about this cartoon was the inclusion of other Disney characters. That made it funnier than others and classy.

Be sure to add Shrek to your family watch list for the weekend.

  • The next on my list has to be Mulan.

Raise your hand if you knew Mulan was released in 1998! Anyone?

I knew Mulan was an old cartoon but damn. It's my age and I think I first saw it when I was 5 years old. I guess I'm older than I thought.

This cartoon has to be one of the earliest presentations of feminism in a Disney cartoon. The lessons and humour are through the roof!

I have to admit that the movie didn't do justice to the cartoon. And Mulan 2 had nothing on the first one.

I saw Mulan a few weeks ago. I still loved it. I intend on seeing it with my nephews soon. It's one of those cartoons you could see 5 times a week and still see it the next week.

The cast of Mulan was:

  • Ming-Na Wen: She voiced the Mulan Character.
  • Eddie Murphy: He voiced Mushu.
  • BD Wong: He voiced Captain Li Shang.

These were the main characters as far as I know. There were other key roles played by the cricket though. But he had no voice.

You have to love the comic side of this cartoon. Eddie Murphy killed it!

His absence made the next one unbearable, but it was okay I guess.

I also loved how Mulan tried to get the other men in the army to see readings why a woman with sense is worth more than a woman who's just pretty. The silent but obvious feminist thrills were beautiful.

I also loved the fact that she wasn't made into a princess. We needed some space from that cliche.

  • The third Cartoon is Moana

This one is a lot more recent, 2016. It holds the major characteristics of a timeless cartoon, mad humour.

Moana also has a strong feminist undertone. I love every character in this cartoon. Every single scene is amazing.

The songs are beautiful. My favourite has to be 'We know the way'. Pretty much all the other songs were just as amazing.

The characters were beautifully drawn. The story was well crafted. As far as I know, this cartoon has no flaw. Or maybe I'm just biased towards it.

The cast was voiced by:

  • Auli'I Cravalho: She voiced Moana.
  • Dwayne Johnson: He voiced Maui.
  • Rachel House: The voice of Tala, Moana's grandmother.

These were the main characters for me. Cluck cluck was also the main character, one of the most important actually.

There's absolutely no reason to have not seen any one of these 3 cartoons.

They are my ultimate favourite and I can't wait to see them with my kids while I recite the story and give them spoilers.

Thanks for reading is far. I hope you lived these cartoons as much as I loved them.
