lol, but nailpolish has got acetone in it!

Citadel and Armypainter paints are water based, usually they don't need much more than a little water to thin. I use a wet pallet though so that is my method (the method is new, learned recently from someone who paints far better than me).

OK. Perhaps you can give an example?

Uhm, I'm not sure what I should give an example of, so you get two! 😹
Here are some water-based nail polishes - there are plenty of other brands too.

And here is an acetone-free nail polish thinner!

I shall actually need to look at those. The local hobby store has all sorts of mediums and stuff for that purpose, but this may be useful knowledge.
