Bitcoin falls below USD $17k after positive U.S. employment

Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies slipped Friday after employment data indicated good economic health. The leading digital currency fell below USD $17,000, while Ether (ETH) also suffered following the news.

Bitcoin and other cryptos slid.

According to data from CryptoMercados, Bitcoin (BTC) retreated from USD $17.075 to daily lows of USD $16.878 this morning (ET) following the release of monthly results. ETH also fell to USD $1,275, although it was less volatile than its counterpart.

Several major altcoins also experienced sudden losses: Binance's BNB fell by 4.4%, XRP by 3% and Cardano (ADA) by 1%, as reported by The Block. Dogecoin and Shiba Inu also during the day, falling 5.6% and 0.8%, respectively, in the last 24 hours. The pain, however, could be passing quickly.
