Inter Milan officially came out as champions of the Italian Serie A 2020-2021 season after Atalanta was held to a 1-1 draw at Sassuolo, Sunday (2/5/2021).

One additional point makes the club nicknamed La Dea collect the same points as AC Milan, which previously won over Benevento, which is 69 points.

Meanwhile, Inter collected 82 points after the previous day 2-0 win over Crotone through goals from Cristian Eriksen (69 minutes) and Achraf Hakimi (90 + 2 minutes).

With four games remaining, Inter Milan points can no longer be pursued by the two competing clubs below. The reason is that even though AC Milan and Atalanta were able to win all the remaining matches, the maximum points that can be collected is 81 points.

Inter Milan also officially won the Italian Serie A trophy as well as breaking Juventus dominance in the last 9 years.

This title is Scudetto 19 for Inter Milan, or the first in 11 years. The last time the club nicknamed the Nerazzurri won the Scudetto was in 2010, when Jose Mourinho led his club to the treble winner (Champions League, Serie A and Copa Italia).
