Zully.

Celebrating Mothers, those beautiful pillars of families.

6.png

A big greeting, especially to all the Mothers that make life in HIVE.

In Venezuela we celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May, it is always a day full of joy and although in many Latin countries the Patriarchy has been strong, I cannot deny that in my country the figure of the Mother is totally sacred.

Weeks before this celebration you can see children and relatives planning the event, which sometimes goes from inviting their mothers to eat at a good restaurant, bringing mariachis and making beautiful gifts.

It is also a special day where usually all the children get together to celebrate and thank Mothers and Grandmothers.

I am going to tell you how I celebrated this 2022.

7.png

My mother has always been my best example of life, My name is Zully Castejón Scott, but I carry the Scott in all my social networks in honor of her. She left this world when I was 14 years old, but they were enough to show me with her example how a mother acts, and hundreds of teachings that made me what I am.

One of the most beautiful things I inherited from my mom was the fact of making gifts, she was very detailed, although she never said it with words, she taught us that when we love someone we dedicate time and we can make details even if we do not have much budget, there is always something to give, from a poem to a sweet.

She was a very meticulous craftswoman and made beauties with her hands, I still remember that months before she died she made some bouquets of wild flowers, all with useful material, in order to sell them and help pay for my school, she was in a wheelchair, her strength was not enough and still she gave everything she had to show her love to me and my siblings.

In honor of that splendid spirit of hers, after she died I have always made details to the mothers I have around me that are significant to me, this has varied over the years, as I have lived in many places and I have had to share with many beautiful people, but this year it was my turn in Barquisimeto, the city where I live and I decided to entertain the mothers I had nearby.

As I told you in yesterday's post, I went out with my husband to buy some details and elaborate the gifts.

1.png

We started by visiting the special women in my husband's family @filoriologo, his grandmothers both maternal and paternal, and his mommy who is a spectacular mother-in-law.

To them we gave some picture frames with a picture of my husband and his brother when they were little, and to his mommy a mug decorated by me, we also gave her some candy and yes... lots of hugs.

We spent some time sharing with them, and then we went on our way, trying to manage the time, as there were several more mommies to go.

5.png

We continued our visit, first we went to the house of a very special woman named LUCIA, but I call her MOTHER, she is like a mother to me, I have practically all my life knowing her and she is the grandmother of one of my nieces, she is a very special woman because she is like a spiritual teacher in my life, she has been in many important moments and makes me feel very loved, I gave her a mandala I made recently and a granola, since she is diabetic and can not eat sweets.

Then I went to my Tia Maritza's house, she is my dad's brother's wife, but she was one of my mom's best friends and she was also my first preschool teacher, she has been a woman who has influenced my life a lot, in fact, I graduated as a preschool teacher too, she is very cheerful, full of energy, always positive and splendid, for me she is like a little piece of my mom that I can still enjoy.

I gave her the plasticine painting I made recently, she was delighted and I was very happy because I know she is someone who values art.

3.png

We continued the party, and it was my turn to celebrate with my children, they currently live between their dad's house and my house, and this week they were there, we went and shared a super happy time.

I gave my children's stepmother a mug decorated by me, a picture frame where all our children appear, also candy, and yes, we get along very well, she is one of my best friends and loves my children as her own and I love her son as mine. In fact all our children call us "Mommy Rose" and "Mommy Zully".

I also gave my children's paternal grandmother a picture frame and some trinkets, she is my former mother-in-law, but I still love her very much because she is someone very special.

And as you can see in the photo in the center of the collage above, we are all together, since we share the responsibility of being mothers with a lot of love. Also my husband and my children's dad get along very well, but since it was Mother's Day they were the ones who took the pictures.

2.png

Being a mother is one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, I would repeat it a thousand times, I have enjoyed every process, every achievement, the growth of my children in detail and it is wonderful to be part of something as important as helping a being to live life, as a mother I just want them to be very happy, to be what they want to be while they can enjoy it, to support them in their dreams until life catches up with me.

4.png

And YES, I also received gifts, my mother-in-law gave me a bag that she painted with a butterfly and the HIVE logo, my children made me letters with beautiful messages and gave me chocolates and sweets, my aunt gave me a dreamcatcher made by her and we put it in our cart.

It was a special day, we returned home and I feel very happy to have given a detail to these special women in my life, mothers who have known how to be a strong base for their families and who have filled with love those around them, including me.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you, today in every detail I celebrated mine, wherever she is, I am sure she is proud of me, as I will always be proud of her.

Thank you for making it this far.

With love

Zully.
