My Actifit Report Card: October 31 2019
The evening sky tonight as we went as far into the forest as we though safe. It was basically dark on the trail.
Hello everybody!
Today dawned cold and clear as I found myself shivering heading to work. It was a non normal doctor day, meaning that usually Thursdays, I am by myself. Today, the doctor was in and we were fully booked, so it was very busy. Tomorrow, a usually normal doctor day, will be doctor-less, so I’ll have my paperwork day.
Because the last patient was seen a bit behind schedule, I was there longer, meaning that dark was descending quicker. I got home just shortly before 6 PM, and Mike was gone hiking. I called Jan to see if she was up to going with me to try to find him before darkness fell. That way, I’d get some steps in. He found me before I even got out of the house. Turns out he had been pacing between our other neighbor’s house and our, listening for the sound of my car. So, we met Jan outside and headed out for what turned out to be the shortest one yet. I ended up turning on the lantern as we were descending the first section of the trail as I don’t see very well in the dark, and with the uneven ground-let’s just say that Grace is not my middle name! We got home after dark, but it was still a good hike.
After coffee and some dinner and a spot of TV, I am now working on my post for tonight.
This is of a tree in the forest where we hike. This pic is from a hike a couple of days ago. It reminds me of the typical con man you might find out in the streets in a trench coat trying to sell you watches or whatever from the inside of his coat. Or maybe you might say this tree is a flasher, lol!

I don't worry about the dark so much on the road going up to the trailhead, but the forest, now that's another matter! There is strength in numbers, so it's good Jan has joined our hiking expeditions. More people equals more noise to scare the furry little creatures away at night! My Mike is a really sweet guy. I thought he was far up the trail. I had no idea he was listening for the car and was nearby. Have a wonderful night @blueeyes8960! Take care!
