My Actifit Report Card: November 9 2019
Hi guys!
It was cloudy today when we got up, but it was supposed to be as they had been calling for rain today. It rained a bit, sprinkled some, and mostly misted.
We headed out for the hike; Jan was down south toward Seattle way at a volley ball tournament as she’s friends with one of the player’s family, so she supports them by attending. It was very grey and it seemed you could feel the mist hitting your face, but you couldn’t really see it. As we headed up, it became more apparent that it was precipitating. It was like we were ascending into a cloud. Up at the first part of the trail at the off grid cabin, you could look out over the valley and see nothing. It was one big grey mass.We entered the forest, and as we climbed higher on the trail, the mist dissipated. Everything was wet and drippy. Since my husband has me lead, I am the one who absorbs the majority of the water on the plants along the trail. Consequently, my pants are usually wet almost up to my knees by the time we’re done. The one good thing is it proved my new hiking boots are indeed water proof!
We did the entire hike, but the interesting thing is that once we descended the upper trail, the mist was back and it began to rain. Mike donned the raincoat and I pulled out my umbrella. I dislike raincoats as they just hold heat in and I don’t do well with heat. As soon as we were off the trail and back on the road to descend the rest of the way to home, it stopped raining altogether.
We had initially had plans to regroup and make a coffee and then head to town, but I’m tired today and the hike was more than enough for me. So we stayed home; I read for a bit and finished a movie I’d been watching. It was a nice quiet afternoon spent with my hubby beside me.
Tomorrow is church, and when we first met the pastor, his mom told me his birthday. It happens to be the same day, month and year as mine, lol! I’ve never met ANYONE who I’ve shared a total match with. Last week, he asked me what we were going to do for our birthday? I said that I didn’t know; just what should we do for our birthday? Anyway, it’s a huge joke with our families. His mom had asked me if we were born in the same hospital, but I had to say no as I was over 2500 miles away at the time. So I guess I’ve been adopted into the family, lol! They are fun to be around!

I thought I was the only one raincoat does that to. It makes me feel I am trapped in this heat thing. Lol.
I prefer umbrellas too but I keep forgetting them were I went to especially if it has stopped raining by the time I head off. Lol.

You are not alone, my friend. I keep mine in my husband's backpack water bottle slot since is has multiple spaces for water bottles. That way, it's always handy for the rain, or if we get unlucky enough to have to try to scare off a cougar. That hasn't happened yet.......but you never know! Have a good one!

Wow, your description of the misty forest has me feeling incredibly jealous! I would love to live near someplace like that, it sounds incredible!
It's ever changing and it is beautiful too. There are times when it's hot and muggy, that I wish for a more temperate climate. In the middle of the winter, the clouds block the sun, so lots of folks suffer with SAD (seasonal affective disorder). But, if you are a glass half full kind of person, you can overlook most of this and see the beauty beyond. The plant life is amazing. I never tire of the eye candy here. Thanks for stopping by.
