🗞 Markets Looking Grim, Bitcoin Lingers Above $8,000 Mark

Bitcoin (BTC) has not been able to recover from Tuesday’s painful correction, which saw double-digit losses across the board.

The most popular crypto coin continues to trade sideways, down by 1.75% over the last 24 hours to trade at around $8,050 at press time, while having seen an intraday high of $8,255.

BTC found some support above the lower-$8,000 region during the better part of the day, but seems to be in danger of revisiting the $7,000s once again.

🗞 Ripple Expands Into Iceland With Acquisition of Crypto Trading Firm

Ripple is expanding its engineering team and moving into a new geography with the acquisition of Iceland-based crypto trading firm Algrim.

The Algrim team will add six engineers to Ripple’s ranks, with a focus on integrations with partner crypto exchanges. The team will work to expand

Ripple’s cross-border payment corridors and contribute to the ongoing development of the company’s on-demand liquidity product, said Amir Sarhangi,

Ripple’s vice president of products. Ripple did not disclose the financial terms of the acquisition.
“It’s about expertise,” Sarhangi said. “This team hits the ground running as opposed to building out a team that has to gain this knowledge.”

🗞 Inside the LatAm Crypto Market With the Founder of SatoshiTango

SatoshiTango was one of the first crypto exchanges in Latin America and is still a major player in the ecosystem. In this video CoinDesk’s Diana Aguilar sat down with founder Marias Bari in Argentina about the future of crypto in the region.

We visited Argentina on the eve of its financial crisis last month and founders like Bari see great value in the growth of crypto in his country. The key, he and his fellow founders believe, is improvement in regulation and slow mass adoption.

🗞 Ant Financial and Bayer to Jointly Develop Blockchain for Agriculture

Bayer Crop Science has agreed to work with Ant Financial, the payments affiliate of Alibaba, to develop a blockchain-based system for agricultural product monitoring.

The companies signed a letter of intent to utilize blockchain technology to increase efficiency, improve the income of farmers, ensure the production of high-quality food and aid in the digitization of agriculture, according to a Sept. 25 announcement.

The agreement would bring together the portfolio and digital-farming technologies of Monheim am Rhein, Germany-based Bayer Crop Science, and the blockchain division of Hangzhou, China-based Ant Financial.

Today, we started to have the beginning of a new correction on the STEEM but it has been stopped around the lows and we are having a little bounce from it now. Let's see if the market will test again this low or if the bounce will continue. Tbh, I will simply wait the direction from the BTC and the STEEM will follow. Since some days, we have no surprise at ll from the altcoins as they are simply following the BTC.
