2019 Growth and planning for 30k this year.
I went back through my account this morning since it's the 1st day of a brand new year. A time for reflection on the past and planning for the future. I did write a post on the same day last year with a quick recap and some new goals for 2019.
Looking back at it STEEM was a different place and I didn't know half of what I know now but the one thing that hasn't changed is my passion for STEEM and wanting to bring it into the spotlight.
2019 goals
To quote myself,
"I don't do new years resolutions and never have so what I will go with instead is set myself a target. I had already stated a few months a go about reaching 5k SP by this time next year but since the markets dropped so low I actually hit and went past it a month ago. 13 months ahead of schedule. So now I will go big.
10k SP by 2020. Not easy but achievable. It will take a lot of time and effort to get there but it's time I'm willing to put in. Like I've said before, I will be here until we are all millionaires or the whole thing goes up in flames. Either way it's going to be an interesting year.
So how did I stack up?
Quite well in fairness. I kept track of my goals every month and upped my activity to earn more STEEM. I added to my @splinterlands deck and used that to earn more STEEM. By branching out into different apps and tribes it was easier to earn STEEM and due to it's nature there is exponential growth for any active users here.
From my starting position of 6580 SP through a mixture of buying, gaming and blogging I increased my SP by 225% in the past 12 months.
In terms of life I was happy enough with where I was and not too much has changed in that regard. I did have a busy year becoming a godfather to my first nephew. My cousin (practically an extra sister ) got married, started a new relationship and generally just steered towards a new direction with my life. A lot like my other friends it seems time to switch away form the life we had enjoyed to a new and more adult one with a different type of enjoyment.
Looking to the next year.
Well in terms of STEEM all I can say is that we will go again. I don't care about the prices, the negativity or the issues. I care about the next 12 months and what we will see in development and users. Over the past year there has been some great work done on the chain and a few of the apps that have really taken off and improved our experiences. I would like to think that these are the building blocks for the next wave of apps and with communities and SMT's on the way (finally) that we will see a different system take over in 2020.
I've long maintained that in the future users won't earn much in the way of STEEM from blogging but that it will be taken over by apps and their own tokens. STEEM will be the backing for all of the systems and earned through leasing SP and RC. This is the best time since the beginning to build up your account while things are quiet and the prices are low.
Personally I will be aiming for 30k this year as I power up everything that I earn which will take 750SP every month to get there by next January. I don't see myself buying much more STEEM so the challenge will be to do it organically by being active and useful throughout the year. Let the games begin.
For life, I am fairly happy with my position as it is a comfortable one where I know my job inside out. Have a steady wage and a home of my own. I do feel that after a decade with the same company it's time to move on as it has gotten a bit stale and doesn't suit the lifestyle I want to move into. I will be taking a look around the market soon enough and will probably switch it up in 2020. That and making a go of the new relationship will be the two main things I would like to do for the year. As I have said earlier, I don't make resolutions but I do like to have goals and targets.
I said it last year and I'll say it again, "I will be here until we are all millionaires or the whole thing goes up in flames. Either way it's going to be an interesting year."

Thanks man. It's been a fun year and I know you've been doing well too. I was quiet for December with work but i'll get back into it now.
Its been good :D
I take a bit of a break right now, csgo is starting again late January, so I will pick it up again. Its the subject I know a lot of hehe.
In a few weeks, I will lease even more SP for more curation rewards :D
Cheers to 2020. It sound like we have similar philosophies about life and steem. Keep one trucking my friend.
Thanks @cryptictruth. I enjoy it here and look Forward to the next year on #steem. Where else would you want to pass the time.

We can all do it. It just takes time and consistent effort effort to be successful.
You did indeed a good work last year, wish all the best for this one!
Steem on.
Same to you man. Best of luck in 2020 and lets hope we all do well from it.
Let’s get while the going’s good, I’m now at 8k and I’m hoping to hit 10k and then who knows where I can end up from there! While these prices are favourable I’ll keep stacking as much as I can too
I want to see how this keeps compounding as I keep getting a larger stake
Great analysis of your account, like how you keep on top of it and good luck in the quest for 30kSP. I'm going for full Orca this year, it's going to take some spending and I think we'll see some even more development happening here.
Good luck with thr job hunt and relationship search too! My aim is to get my own house as well but looking like it will be in 2021 that will happen.
Steem on!
Sounds like a nice new year goal. Following with interest,
