Tuesday's Small Talk

avatar
(Edited)

Anyone who is new to my blog may not know that many moons ago I used to have a weekly feature called Tuesday's Talk and schedule interviews with people around our industry, ranging from program owners to affiliate marketers and everyone in-between.

I decided I really wanted to bring that back but at the same time come up with something a little different.

So I have decided on.....

Basically, every Tuesday, I'm going to ask 3 questions and tag members on CTP Talk to each question and you can answer them in the comments on CTP Talk.

You only need to answer the question you're tagged in (unless you REALLY want to answer the others!) The idea is obviously to promote engagement and discussion but also I thought it would be a fun way to get to know you guys and get a feel for where you're at in your professional journey.

You are definitely under no obligation to participate so there will be no hard feelings if I don't hear from you! I'll keep the questions pretty light for the most part. Your answer can be as long or as short as you'd like it to be. All I ask is that you're honest!

So let's get started!

1. What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on? @pixiepost

2. What’s your go-to productivity trick? @ph1102

3. Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work? @maddogmike

Hey ya! I like it! I'm actually looking forward to the answers here.

I'm in a little different world right this now, but doesn't mean I don't spend at least a little time in yours. I actually think Hive and the possibilities of it really lends itself to CTP and the functions it promotes.

So. I'll answer uninvited. I do some of my best work butting into somebody else's stuff :)

A: Writing. It's always about the writing for me.
B: Just do it. Have an idea about what you are doing and where you are going then sit staring at the cursor until it's done.
C: @Jon Olson. I still use many of his 'tricks of the trade' including 3 things on the whiteboard which is right here beside me.

Hey Tom! Thanks for your answers. Anyone is welcome to answer :D

I always appreciated your "get it done" attitude. And needed to hear it many more times then I'd like to admit LOL

ooo...first post I see today & you're already making me think, @jangle...really? hold my coffee LOL ;)

Great question...I would say a professional skill I am working on is streaming. I did my first stream interview with @nathanmars on Twitter a few days ago and it broke the ice for me. It is way out of my comfort zone. So, I am looking to stream with someone again in the near future or dare I say, alone?? GASP. I am also working on doing a podcast as well!

I am glad to see Tuesday Small Talk on the #HIVE blockchain. :) Keep up the great work!

Darn, @jangle... I like the idea, and I'm flattered that I've got to answer the question in the very first post, but you made me think... 🤣

There are no tricks with productivity... I have started almost from ZERO... was very lost when I come here, but every couple of weeks I was adding 1 thing to my schedule... After a certain time, that thing becomes a habit...

Also, it helps that I have problems with my personality... lol... Actually, I didn't mention this anywhere, so it's exclusive material... :)

a vampire's compulsive need to count mustard seeds and untie knots.

So, I can't go to bed until I finish my daily tasks... or have to click on the notifications to make that number disappear, etc... lol...

Usually, I tend to bump on similar people and connect with them very fast... Don't believe in coincidences...

Cheers!

That are really nice question. Not working on any skills and no idea of how to be productive is really waste of time.
You really gave me some food for thought.

It really is a waste of time, you are correct. I'm glad it's something you'll consider. Sometimes a little self reflecting is how we grow :)

This is a great idea and I am honored to be asked on the first day.

I would definitely say that my father had the most influence on the way I approach work. He has always been a hard working man and I can remember one of the things he used to say all the time, "If you did it right the first time you wouldn't have to do it again". This always resonated heavy with me to do the best job I can, even if it's not perfect as long as you gave 100% and did the best you can.
