As if on cue, it was raining cats & dogs as I headed home from work today. I was so glad when I got home, but I needed to dry off. It's lovely to be indoors during a thunderstorm.

During thunderstorms I am the only person/thing in the whole world that can protect our 15 lb chihuahua and our 80 lb golden lab. So I am pinned to the couch by the 2 of them until there has been no thunder for at least 30 minutes.
I stand in the window and watch. I love thunderstorms. If it is a night time thunder storm I sleep like a baby.
I comfort a shaking dog and watch for tornadoes. I am calm, though, because I grew up in an area where spring was one long tornado watch after another.
I make sure the toddler and dog are ok and then enjoy the show
Count the seconds between the flash and the bang.

During thunderstorms I love to go out and watch with a nice adult beverage or tea.

Where I live there are thunderstorms almost daily through the summer so life keeps going, just another day lol I do enjoy watching the lightning though.
I must admit I love a good thunderstorm and could sit watching lightning for hours

In a thunder storm, as long as my dog is OK (he usually is, it's fireworks that really get him); I sit back and enjoy natures show! :)

Being from the deep south of the US originally, we used to have lots of thunderstorms. Lots of lightning. So we find the candles and flashlights from the inevitable power failure that would occur, and sometimes even sit on the front porch to watch the rain.
