Art Class Week 2
Drawing class with my 4th and 5th graders today was lots of practice shading with colored pencils. The Art With a Purpose curriculum I use recommends Crayola or Prismacolor pencils, with the former more affordable and the latter more pigmented and soft.
I decided to test drive the Staedler brand I found at an office supply store. The biggest advantage to these pencils is their triangular barrels--they will not roll off the table or desk! The colors are a bit pale compared to my Prismacolor pencils, but both brands draw smoothly.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks and I will report on my research results from various pastels and crayons.
