3 Steps no Excuses Day 15 - Follow up up every day!

3stepsnoexcuses

This is not my first go around with trying to make a list.
I have tried numerous times to make email lists and feel like I failed every time in spite of getting a few people to
join.
I think the main reason it did not work out for me was because I did not know how important follow up was.

I would send out my initial welcome and maybe a couple of follow ups and then wonder why nobody was buying anything.
It was mainly a lack of experience and information.
Since I have started using Click Track Profit in a serious way I have realized the flaws in my marketing strategies.

Follow Up!

This is probably the most important thing that I needed to work on.

I have always felt like I am not a good copywriter so in part I was feeling invalidated as a writer and in part I did not understand what to write about.
Going through the learning modules at CTP has been a Godsend. It has helped me understand how to become a better writer.

By doing the 30 Day no excuses challenge I have learned that all I needed was practice and to change some bad habits.
The other thing I have learned is the importance of good mentors and support.
I think I finally found that.

Jon Olson and the CTP Telegram group have been excellent mentors for me .
I feel like I finally found some people who were willing to take the time and were concerned with me succeeding.
Up to this point I think the people I worked with were primarily interested with putting money in their pockets.
It is very disappointing as a newbie to be making mistakes, not understand why it is not working and making no money.

I think this is why Integrity is so important to me now.

I hate it when a site owner I am working with will not cut any slack and only wants more money to help me get it right.
They got the money and I failed.
Many site owners don't seem to care whether a person fails or not.
So a good mentor that cares is very important in my opinion.
I have worked with a few well known site owners only to find they lacked integrity.
This is very disappointing especially after putting my trust in them.

That being said I am trying again and having some success this time.
Learning this business has been a struggle from the very beginning for me.
I cannot tell you how many times I have "Failed".
I am still here because of tenacity. I want to understand this business and not every one is like that, If they fail they are gone forever, telling people that the internet marketing is a scam.

Having enough money has also been a struggle. So there are times when I did not have the budget and would not be able to pay. Usually this is when I would get the cold shoulder from my mentors.

I am not blaming anyone anymore but my view of this business was jaded because it seemed like as long as I showed up giving the money they would mentor me.

I guess this has turned out to be more of a rant than I wanted but I think it is important to understand that newbies know nothing and can be easily turned off.
I have learned my lessons the hard way so I want to be a mentor that really cares about the well being of the people I am working with.

No one knows the struggles a person is going through.

Some people are desperate and trying something new hoping that the big break will come their way.
Others may just want to change careers or you could be like me and just want a way to make money after they retire.
Each person is different.

I have probably turned a lot of people off with my failed lists by not following up. Now I get to learn how to pick up the pieces. Who knows if these old lists are salvageable.
By doing this challenge I am learning new skills daily, which is what the Plus1 is all about.
Do something every day!
The other part of today's challenge is to make a list of three things you want to do every day.
At the top of my list is caring about the experience of the people on my list.
This used to be at the very bottom.
I guess I am a slow learner but it is never too late to get it right.

So show up every day and Plus1
As Ghandi said,

"Be the change that you want to see in the world."

Peace and success to you all!
Tom Alente

Yes, following up and remembering that your subscribers are people not just emails addresses on your list. Make sure you treat them that way! And I agree with you, too many program owners take the money and run. If you succeed or not they don't care.

Great quote. I found that the community in CTP actually answers questions straight forward. I may not understand the answer the first few go arounds, but these people work with me and work with me and boom I finally get it. lol :-D
