Money Saving Tip #3

Clothes:
This one might be hard for some people and I know there are things that shouldn't be "cheap" when buying, such as shoes. If your feet hurt then you really can't do much, I know.

That being said, I try to get the other things like pants, shirts, etc. at WalMart (or Kmart until they closed in my area). Or, I get some at thrift stores or yard sales.

These days I am not picky about what type of jeans I wear or what is on my t-shirt. I would like to be able to just buy whatever I want & like but it would be a lot more money to buy the name brands and the shirts I really want such as rock band t-shirts and some of the good hoodie sweatshirt with stuff on them (I have a few that are over 20 years old now).

Socks & underwear I buy new, not used, for obvious reasons but I try to get a bulk pack at WalMart.

As I stated at the beginning of this post, shoes are very important but I do try to get those on sale at a place called Big 5. That is a sporting goods store near me. There are two in my area that I know of. They usually have good sales but sometimes when I really need new shoes, or boots when I was working, I had to wait for the sale or next sale. I have worn shoes and boots with soles coming off before and I know how hard that is to wait until the next sale with something I wanted. I don't know if saving $10 is worth it to some people but for me the $10 difference in price seemed worth it. So, spend $45 now when you need them, or $35 in a week or so when they are on sale. Some people might be able to buy two pair of shoes at the sale price and put one pair away in the box until they need them. Then they wouldn't have to worry about the sale until they start using the second pair.
